Ryou stepped into the mansion and immediately regretted it. He had only been considering going to the masquerade, really. He had more been hoping to irritate his yami than anything else. But now that he had taken the bait and gone inside, he now felt obligated to get a costume and go the masquerade.

He had seen the e-mail that the twins had sent out, and wasn't entirely sure how to react to that. Crossdressing had never been one of Ryou's...kinks, per se, but he had long since resigned himself to the fact that he was probably feminine enough to make it work. The boys at school had long since convinced him of that, at least.

The only problem seemed to be that there was nobody here. "Er...hello?" Ryou called, somewhat timidly.

The twins slid up to him from either side, grinning from ear to ear, as usual. They were both wearing their school uniforms, and telling them apart would have been almost impossibly to anyone who didn't know them well. Even then, it would have been hard to do it.

"Hello~!" they both chimed at the same moment, standing on either side of the white-haired boy. "Hitachiin costume service! Are you in need of a costume?"

The sudden appearance of the twins startled Ryou, and he jumped rather badly. "Er...yes!" Ryou said as he attempted to regain his composure. "I got that e-mail that you sent out," he added, looking around at the room in interest. "I'm, er, not entirely sure what to wear, if you want to be perfectly honest..."

They were unperturbed by his apparent confusion, and continued as if nothing was the matter at all.

"Oh~? Well, what kind of category did you want to enter? We have fancy, scary, funny, and...." - here they paused to grin devilishly - "...OUR SUPER SECRET SPECIAL CATEGORY!"

They moved to stand in front of him. Hikaru had an arm over Kaoru's shoulders, and Kaoru had an arm around Hikaru's waist.

"Which would you like~?"

Yuuko skipped merrily up the stairs to the mansion. "Finally, a place with some class!" she commented out loud. Certainly the glowing rose and glitter covered signs announcing free costumes were a bit much, but who was she to be picky?

She walked right through the open doors and noticed a large bouquet of roses in the entrance hall. The witch pulled out a particularly red one and put it in her hair. She was feeling festive, after all. A Masquerade Ball in a city like this? Yuuko wouldn't have believed it possible.

The last lines of the email had read, "A special prize will go to anyone who can fool our Lord into thinking that you are, in fact, of the opposite gender." Yuuko surveyed her own, rather curvey figure.

"I doubt that I could pass for a man," she mused out loud. "Not without a spell, anyway. But something tells me this Lord of theirs won't be very interested in the men...who knows. I might just have more fun as I am ( ... )

Hikaru left Kaoru, reluctantly, with a previous customer and wandered up to Yuko, munching on a banana. He knew that he shouldn't, but it was an old tradition for them now, after all.

"Hello, hello!" he said, smiling. "I'm guessing you need a costume for our party?"

He didn't like talking to people that much when Kaoru was almost out of his sight, but they'd agreed to this, and it would go faster if they did it this way, or so he told himself.

Yuuko had been watching with some amusement as the two twin boys guided another costumer away. Now one of them was coming over to her.

"Hello!" she smiled in return to his. "Yes, I'd like a costume for your party, but I'm afraid I don't know what to go as. Maybe you can give me some tips? It's been so long since I've been to a party like this..." she trailed off, studying him for a moment. She had always thought twins were fun.

"You're the older one, right? Pleased to meet you. My name is Yuuko."

Hikaru blinked at her. How did she know he was the older one~? Ah, well, best not to let her know that she was right.

He shrugged. "I'm Kaoru. Hikaru is still helping someone in the back."

He studied her for a minute, still smiling a little, as if he was partial to some incredible inside joke. With Hikaru, that was entirely possible.

"We~ll, we are having the super special contest, but...with your figure, I don't think you'll be able to do it so well. How about another category? Fancy, funny, scary...?"

He tilted his head at her expectantly and waited, hoping her choice would inspire him. If not, he could always ask Kaoru for help.

The treasurer blinked at the signs, and put a finger to her lips. Hmm...perhaps Ema-chan would want to go. Now that she had made her decision to rescue the girl...cheering up would be a good start.

With a slight bounce, she followed the signs to where she was apparently supposed to be able to get costumes. But Maora wouldn't be asking for costumes...she had something else up her sleeves.

"Hello?" She called, and awaited a response.

After settling things with the previous customers, the twins looked back to the door. Oh, so there were a few females in the City? Their Lord would be pleased to know it.

They walked up to Maora, arm in arm, as if they were attached to each other. "Hello, hime-sama!" they said, a slight teasing tone in their twin voices.

Maora sensed the playfulness of the twins, and couldn't help but smile. Troublemakers, hm? The treasurer touched her finger to her cheek. She was in the right company then.

"Hime-sama?" What was it with the princess title in this place? Though the brunette was well aware that she looked like a girl, for some reason the hime just didn't sit right. "I'm not so great to be called Hime." The reply was not harsh, just sounded slightly confused. Maora put her hands to her hips.

"This is where we pick up costumes, ne?" She asked politely.

Their smiles faded and they stared at her. Really, she didn't like it? But it usually worked so well.

Ah, whatever.

The smiles returned after a minute, though they weren't quite as wide, and Hikaru said, "Well! Yes, if you want a costume, you've come to the right place!"

Kaoru ventured, "Did you have something in mind already?"

Someone needed to put some levity in this place, Celeste supposed. She sighed at her clothes- still the same things she'd taken from Matt's place... that time- and wondered what... and perhaps more specifically who, would be at this thing.

She entered the mansion and looked around- very impressive, a far cry from the apartment she was staying at (who knew this city had places like this?) Celeste wondered exactly what the procedure was here- stand and wait? She supposed so.

Perhaps she could look into some other clothes while she was here. And some underwear- the bandages were alright for a bra (a trick picked up from television and the olden times) but they were getting both itchy and restricting.

The twins had just finished with someone else, and they came strolling down the stairs and into the front room as if they didn't have a care in the world. Really, at the moment, they didn't.

They both looked surprised at the new arrival, though. BUT! A customer was a customer, and they would just have to go with it.

"Hello, hello~," they said, together, unwinding from each other and sliding over to her. "May we help you?"

Celeste was more than a little surprised herself- she didn't know many twins, and those she had known were very emphatic about their differences. Oh well, people were all different. She smiled at the twins.

"Yes, this is where the costumes are being dealt with, am I correct?" Muttering to herself about 'and hopefully some extra clothes.'

"It certainly is," Hikaru said.

"Did you have something specific in mind?" Kaoru said.

Kaoru smiled, but Hikaru was studying her a little. She looked like she could certainly use some different clothes in general, didn't she, with the appearance of a commoner that she was presenting. At least, in his mind. Perhaps they'd have to find something for her.

Roy still got some doubts concerning this whole masquerade thing. He wasn't really fond of such way of spending free time, but getting to know some new people in this unfriendly world could be useful at some point.

He wasn't sure if he really wanted a costume - in the end, with his heavy military coat he could, well, "dress-up" as a soldier. Which other costume would fit him? Maybe only a pirate's one, concerning that he had one eye left...

He sighted heavily while entering the mansion and asked, not really caring if anyone was going to answer him "Is anybody here?"

Hikaru wandered far enough away from Kaoru to greet the newcomer. He was definitely the oldest person they'd run into so far, and honestly, Hikaru wasn't quite sure how to respond. He hadn't been planning for this. But a party was a party, and they had invited everyone, hadn't they~?

The twin tilted his head at the man. What was with the eyepatch, anyway?

"Were you looking for a costume? I'm sure we can find something well suited to you~."

Roy saw a red-haired boy, by the look in his teens, dressed in ridiculously lilac outfit. That was certainly getting weirder and weirder. He gave the teen a "not-really-convinced" look.

"Well, so what are your proposals?"

Hikaru grinned at him. Kaoru noticed the interaction and came over as well, hooking one arm over his twin's shoulders.

They sort of struck a pose, and both announced, "PIRATE!"
