The treasurer blinked at the signs, and put a finger to her lips. Hmm...perhaps Ema-chan would want to go. Now that she had made her decision to rescue the girl...cheering up would be a good start.
With a slight bounce, she followed the signs to where she was apparently supposed to be able to get costumes. But Maora wouldn't be asking for costumes...she had something else up her sleeves.
After settling things with the previous customers, the twins looked back to the door. Oh, so there were a few females in the City? Their Lord would be pleased to know it.
They walked up to Maora, arm in arm, as if they were attached to each other. "Hello, hime-sama!" they said, a slight teasing tone in their twin voices.
Maora sensed the playfulness of the twins, and couldn't help but smile. Troublemakers, hm? The treasurer touched her finger to her cheek. She was in the right company then.
"Hime-sama?" What was it with the princess title in this place? Though the brunette was well aware that she looked like a girl, for some reason the hime just didn't sit right. "I'm not so great to be called Hime." The reply was not harsh, just sounded slightly confused. Maora put her hands to her hips.
"This is where we pick up costumes, ne?" She asked politely.
Their smiles faded and they stared at her. Really, she didn't like it? But it usually worked so well.
Ah, whatever.
The smiles returned after a minute, though they weren't quite as wide, and Hikaru said, "Well! Yes, if you want a costume, you've come to the right place!"
Kaoru ventured, "Did you have something in mind already?"
Aw, they stopped smiling. How sad. Even though charms like that never work for Maora~ for more reason than one.
The treasurer had been thinking of something rather special that she wanted to do for Ema-chan. She hoped the other girl would like it...
"Well, I actually need two costumes. One for Ema-chan, and one for myself. I was wondering if you had Cinderella and her magician, though...I'm a designer, so borrowing a costume and not making it myself is killing me." There was a slight laugh, and Maora looked between the two twins.
"I also heard that there was a prize for fooling someone into thinking you're a girl, yes?"
"I assumed you'd figure it out. Which is why I was going to ask you to disqualify me." She clasped her hands behind her back. "Besides, it's not really a challenge if I do it everyday, ne?"
Maora wiped away a somewhat sad smile. Thinking of the reason why she cross-dressed made her a bid downtrodden. Maguri wasn't here. It would have been fun to throw him in the evil stepsister's outfit again...
"Sou ka!" The treasurer's eyes brightened at the mention of making her own costume, "I'll take the materials then please. What do I have to choose from?"
Hikaru continued on his own, "But promise you'll trick our lord some other time, just for us?"
Kaoru slipped away to get a key ring off the nearby table. He came back and the twins both gestured to the stairs. "Anything your heart desires! Let's go see what we have."
She placed her hand over her heart, making the solemn oath, and grinned, "I promise that I will trick him just for you. Name the time and place, and it's done. I'm curious myself to see how long I can keep him fooled."
That was always something to look forward to, especially when the reactions came. Had it been any other circumstance, in fact, Maora would have loved to see the look on Ema-chan's face...but now she was going to have to have a serious talk with her instead of a playful one like usual...
Maora gave a slight curtsy at the twins. These two were fun. She almost felt like she could be her usual self around them. "Why thank you." And with that, she started up the stairs in the direction they gestured.
They laughed, together. "We'll have to set up a time for that!" they said through their laughter.
They followed her up the stairs toward the room, sidestepping their way in front of her once they reached the door so Kaoru could unlock it.
They pushed the door open together, standing on either side of it, and ushered her (him?) inside with a flourish. They flipped a switch and the chandelier overhead turned on brightly, illuminating piles of fabric.
Really, the twins didn't remember there being THAT much before, but there was no sense in sharing that information.
[[ooc: you can just refer to Maora by her gender, and use she. That's what they do in the manga, b/c there's a big difference in her personality if I'm describing Maora with "he," but that would take me awhile to explain ^^;]]
Maora's eyes brightened, "Wai!" The fabric was beautiful, just like what Papa used on his models! She scanned the pieces with that mischievous look on her face...which one was best suited?
There was a powder blue shimmer that made her stop. She looked to the twins. "What do you think of this for Cinderella? You don't mind helping me pick, do you? It's a present for a friend, so I want it to be very special." Her hand traced the material's folds. It would be easy to pick her fabric once this was chosen.
[[ooc: no prob. Maora's a very confusing creature. <3 XD]]
These guys were a riot. Maora almost wished she could drag them back to the Imperial Academy and fling them at Koutei and Ushio-chan. The student council president and secretary would NOT be amused. But she would be <3 and that was all that mattered.
"Mm...I have to agree. It's for my friend Ema-chan. I'm always the magician." There was a bit of mystery laced in her tone...alluding to some insight that neither of them could see. "Do you think that I could borrow the gloves and mask to go along with this? Since I'm short on time, I think it's alright to borrow the accessories..."
They raised opposite eyebrows and wondered what she was talking about. But really, it didn't matter. They weren't losing any money this way, and they knew it was all kind of fake, but that was all right.
"Of course~. When we're done here, we'll just go down and get them for you," they said.
"Maa~ we really owe you two." She stated, as she finished gathering the rest of the fabric. "This was a good idea, for everyone. A lot of people needed the chance to relax for a bit..." The brunette smiled serenely as she selected the fabric for the magician's outfit. "...it might be out of place, but sometimes, that's the best medicine. Laughter and smiles." There was a pause as she selected one last set of trims.
"So please, if anyone needs any alterations, feel free to send them to me, so you won't have your hands too full." Besides, the more she sewed, the more she'd stay in practice. Like the other guy on the board had mentioned.
"If you don't mind, I'll take the gloves and masks so I can get out of your way. You probably have a line already." There was a slight sweatdrop on the side of her head, but Maora was certain that the twins would be alright with it.
"We~ll, it's our job. We don't mind at all," they said, still grinning.
"We'll leave you to your fabric. Other customers do beckon. We'll put your stuff out on the table for you, in the front. Enjoy~."
They turned to leave, wrapped around each other as usual. It wasn't really their fabric. Besides, they could tell that she wouldn't cause any problems. It was fine with them.

"Hello?" She called, and awaited a response.

"Oh, so you've already got a head start!" Hikaru said, his grin returning in full. Kaoru followed suit and added, "Perhaps you can win a prize~."
The spoke together, after that, saying, "Well, if you would like to make your own, we could simply give you the materials."

"Oh, quite a find you have there!" Hikaru said. Kaoru continued, "I think it would make a lovely dress."
They considered for a minute, then looked at her again. "Is it for you or your friend~?"
[[OOC: Thanks for the heads up. ^^]]
