[ooc; I'll be tracking this post so just 'post as comments' instead of replies. That way the replies won't be pushed off the page!]After confirming the location with the woman named Celeste Inpax (another wonder of this city, he thought with a hint of bemusement, how the dead were free to communicate with the living), Edgeworth made his way to the tenements ( ... )

The mood was tense, he could sense it from the moment the door opened. Perhaps, rightfully so. This had been the scene of a violent attack and now, Franziska being alone here after what she claimed was a wolf attack...

Wolf attack indeed, he thought to himself as he cast a glance towards her figure, taking in her attire all at once and feeling a wave of discomfort. He'd never seen a single hair out of place on Franziska for as long as he'd known her, and more often than not, even in private, she always appeared as proper as possible. Right now was a sort of contradiction in itself and his suspicion about Wright's words being true began to intensify.

"It's been a while." he greeted then, turning to glance about the room, as though checking for intruders and then looked back at her. "Where were you when Adrian Andrews was attacked?"

In her defense, Franziska's hair was perfect, at least as best as she could. Showering in the dark and then trying to get your hair normal looking with no brush only worked so well ( ... )

And now this was slowly taking a step into the realm of the uncomfortable, with the dismissive attitude and body language. Perhaps having scrutinized so many things for the number of years that he had had somewhat prepared him to observe people a little more closely than necessary. Something was wrong, and Franziska was reeking of it. There was deliberation in her actions, almost staged, and while she was doing a good job of it, did she really take him to be that much of a fool?

He'd been raised with her. Did that even matter?

You're almost beginning to sound emotional, Miles, he thought humorlessly to himself, and he approached her from behind, standing just a small distance away.

"Franziska..." his voice was quieter. "You can drop the act now. I know what really happened."

It was time to take a somewhat-close stab in the dark and see where it lead.
