After confirming the location with the woman named Celeste Inpax (another wonder of this city, he thought with a hint of bemusement, how the dead were free to communicate with the living), Edgeworth made his way to the tenements.

Arriving here had given him enough reason to have been unable to make contact with people at all, but the fact that Franziska was here and the fact that Wright was more than certain about her run-in with Engarde was more than troubling to him.

This place changed people. It was changing him, and while some changes were those he believed would aid him, it was still like succumbing to an unseen master's nature. Like the power the very man who's daughter he was to see now, had held over him for the longest time.

Once he'd reached the apartment, he paused. Getting this information out of Franziska would be risky, and he knew she wasn't the kind to part with it easily. But he wasn't going to stop. If he'd learned anything in his years of prosecuting, it was this: You never stop until you reach the truth. And that was precisely what he would acquire from her.

Raising his hand to rap on the door with the back of his fingers twice, he then called,

"Franziska. I am here." He spoke the last phrase in German, just so she could be certain.
