Sadly, it was over all-too-abruptly. There was a ruckus overhead, and Ema soon found herself awake in the futon despite her best efforts to stay asleep in the wake of the noise. She wasn't terribly aware, but awake.
Ema sat up, grumbling incoherently under her breath and rubbing at her eyes. Before long, Yuko peeked in and Ema managed a groggy half-smile to assure the other woman that she was all right.
"What was all that?" she asked sleepily, vaguely gesturing upwards.

She studied the interior of the teahouse curiously, noting the fact that most of the sliding doors were indeed left a bit open. She reminded herself sternly of Yuuko's instructions so as not to get lost again.
She stopped though, when Yuuko peered into one of the rooms. After all, it wouldn't have been polite for her to explore the house without permission, though Watanuki seemed to be quite at ease here.
She cocked her head curiously to the side as a female voice said something she couldn't make out from the other room. That must be Yuuko-san's guest, she mused to herslef.

Watanuki was very careful to leave the sliding door slightly open, just enough for one's fingers to go through but not for a cold draft to come in. Nodding his head in satisfaction, he turned around and guided Sakura to the dining area.
"Please stay here while I prepare a meal for you," Watanuki said, already going through a mental checklist of what was in the pantry. If they were back at the teashop, he'd have no problem with fixing a delicious (and, not to mention, healthy) meal for the girl, but as it was... well.
Preservatives were very scary things, and he didn't want to think of what happened if they took in too much of it.

Satisfied with Ema's condition, the witch left the door mostly open behind her as an invitation as she walked back into the main hall. "My client is in there," she told Sakura, by way of explaination. "She's awake, and she'll probably be out soon." The studied Sakura for a moment, then randomly asked, "It's okay if I call you Sakura-chan, isn't it?"
She caught the tail end of Watanuki's voice as he disappeared into the small pantry. "There's some leftover sandwiches and tea I put in there a bit ago," she called after him. "If you can't find much to make do with."
Grinning for a moment, she slipped over to Ema's door and called in, loud enough for Watanuki to hear, "Emmmmaaa~~! Watanuki is going to make a lunch for us all!"

Startled by Yuuko's voice, Sakura jumped a little, before turning back to the older woman, smiling sheepishly. "Ah, yes. I don't mind at all! Um, your name is Yuuko-san, right?"
She lit up at the mention of the sandwiches. "I'll go get them!" she volunteered. "I can also help in the kitchen, if you'd like, Kimihiro-san?" she offered, raising her voice just enough to be heard in the pantry.

Slowly, Ema crawled out of the futon and stretched. Aside from the tiredness, she didn't really feel all that different. Perhaps more at peace with herself and with what happened with Matt, but that change had occurred before she made the wish. Idly, she wondered if she was even supposed to feel any difference physically.
Yuko's voice into the room caused Ema to jump a bit--it was a bit sudden. Still, the promise of food was enough to lure Ema out into the next room with the rest of them.
Shyly, she pulled the door open and smiled a little at Yuko and the small girl. "Hi."

"N-no! It's okay, Sakura-chan!" he said, as he rushed past her. He skidded to a stop when he saw Ema standing in the doorway, and he bowed to her in greeting.
"Hello! Ah, please excuse me." Watanuki ducked into the kitchen after that.

To Sakura, she gave a big smile. "Sakura-chan doesn't have to be so formal with me~! She can call me... Yuu-nee-chan! Because she's just like the little sister we never had!" the witch clapped her hands together.
"Hmm..." she hummed thoughtfully to herself, tapping her chin, then addressed Sakura. "Sakura-chan, have you heard from Clow lately?"

Thankfully, Yuko took it upon herself to bring the mood back up. Before Ema was even really aware of it, she had been declared Sakura's honorary older sister. Yuko's declaration had surprised Ema, yes, but Sakura's asking for permission was perhaps more surprising. Big sister? They'd just met, hadn't they?
Ema was touched. Honored, even.
She honestly had to take a few moments and think about it. Despite her statement, could she realistically protect Sakura from everything? No, she couldn't. There was no deluding herself or Sakura by pretending she could. But then... Lana couldn't realistically protect Ema from everything. SL-9 proved that, and the whole incident with Matt proved that ( ... )
