Ema swore they were playing with her on purpose. She had even taken the extra care to look into the room before entering it--the door shifted just as she walked through and slammed shut behind her. It was all she could manage not to completely break down in a panic.
At least... Matt didn't seem to be there. Yes, she was planning on meeting him, but she wasn't quite ready to face him yet. She was still working on hardening herself and shutting down her emotions completely. Funny, how she'd hated Lana for doing that for two years... and now she was doing the same thing. It was either shut down, or go crazy.
Dante had come terribly close to ruining that. She'd never forgive him for that.
Luckily, Dante was also absent. Ema looked around; she was standing alone in an old tea room that didn't seem like it had seen usage in just about forever. Hesitantly, she called out, "Hello? Is anyone here?"
