Guy had been expecting Susanne's arrival, so he was already in the front area, working on a few dusty glasses for lack of something better to do. With Asch out on patrol as usual, and the bar empty of customers, he'd quickly gotten bored. Even a woman's company - Duke Fabre's wife, at that - would be pleasant to alleviate that feeling.

Not that Susanne Fabre had ever been anything but polite to him in the years he'd lived in her home. Really, she'd gone above and beyond any expectations he'd ever had of Kimlascan nobility. He doubted he'd ever met a more gentle woman, save perhaps his own mother. But he barely remembered her, so it was hardly worth comparing them.

"I'm here," he responded, lifting a hand in greeting, not sure whether to be happy or uneasy about the situation he'd gotten himself into. She was only using the kitchen, so it wasn't a big deal, right? Still... he couldn't shake the feeling that he'd be in over his head.

Susanne relaxed, pushing into the bar and offering Guy a meek little bow. "Thank you again, so much, Guy. I do owe Dr. West a great deal, and this is the only thing I can think of to repay him with." She approached the bar slowly, careful to keep her distance, and smiled, hoping to set him at ease. "I promise I'll be out of your hair as soon as possible."

Guy blinked, setting aside the glass and the dustcloth he'd been working at, and stepped out from behind the bar to greet her properly. "Doctor West? The one who gave you that extra medicine, right? I saw you talking to him the last time you were here." His brows furrowed. "It's not a hassle, if you're helping him. But... you came here alone? Milady, that's dangerous."

Not that he enjoyed the alternative - Duke Fabre playing escort - but still. The city wasn't safe for a woman alone.

"Yes, that was the doctor." Susanne clasped her hands before herself. "And...I know it is dangerous, but I was careful, and I hurried."

She glanced to the side for a moment before looking him square in the eye and continuing bluntly. "I know you do not care for my husband -to put it lightly- and I didn't wish to subject you to his company, as I know he would remain only to hover. It isn't fair to impose upon you like that."

Guy was quiet for a moment, considering this. She had a point - and he would definitely be less civil if Duke Fabre was there as well - but he had a point as well. He really wasn't happy with the idea of her going out alone.

"Are you planning to go out looking for him after we're finished here?" he asked quietly, his tone as casual as he could manage. It didn't hurt to be curious.
