The overall form of this athame is based upon the papyrus wand, oft held by several ancient Egyptian Goddesses. The hieroglyph of the papyrus plant was the root of the word meaning ‘green,’ not only in the sense of color, but also all green growing things. Masonic Lodges use various symbols to impart moral truths. This was created for Satucket Lodge, A.F. & A.M. as an upgrade.
