Isn't it ironic?

Alanis Morissette's song "Ironic" has been pegged by many as not being ironic at all as all the examples she gives are merely situational coincidences. This of course led to people saying that the song may be ironic because although she says it is ironic it is in fact not ironic which is verbal irony or sarcasm

I love this. I've generally stayed away from irony in teaching eng102, just because of this song, or rather, this prevailing interpretation of irony (remember, community college).

I had never though about it as being, in itself, situational irony. Your explanation has convinced me; irony is back on the menu.
