YAY, my semi-unloved vid won a teardrop award. (and although the sound is sometimes funky, this is one of my favorite vids that I have done) I always felt that vid was incredibly sad and said so much. I couldn't love Spike (souled and unsouled) the way I do if I didn't see him that way.

Thanks for the loving of my post. I am gushing over Spike once more. New season comes up and I start missing the character again. :(

I appreciate that. :) I think almost of us love him because of that and not because he's "hot" (although hot and sexy definitely doesn't hurt)

no, it definitely doesn't ;) For me it's just how complex his character is, and how rich his and Buffy's relationship is--it's a creative playground, so to speak.

Congrats on the award.
When I fist saw Spike on tv (late in the airing of BTVS) I thought, "oh wow what a hottie!" But when I caught Season 2 reruns a few days later, it was his love for Drusilla that really drew me in to the character. Watching Spike go from Evil to Good is a compelling story, but it is his innate ability to love and protect those he loves that has stayed the same and has made me continue to adore this "Spike thing".

I know how you feel. I love that he was always trying and didn't have much encouragement and often was terribly hurt.

Isn't it wonderful when something you have a deep passion for yourself wins something? Some of my favorite fics receive less fb than some of the others, but I love them probably more. ^_^

Yes, the ones that mean the most to you sometimes don't get the feedback that the others do. I notice that happens so much with many vidders/artists/fic writers..

You preety much summed up why I love him so much, hes a fantastic character, even when souless he was devoted to the people he loved and cared about, yeah the whole sireing his mother thing affected him, I always though He sired Ford, Maybe one of his minions did it.

I thought he might have sired Ford, but then Drusilla was there and very ill. I figure he let her as she might enjoy that, especially after seeing LMPTM.
