1) Same as you, everywhere; with me, it happens at times whenever I'm reading a book or listening to music.
2) In front of my laptop or at my desk.
3) I write ideas down whenever they pop into my head, and I take time to free write when I can.
4) Mystery, fantasy, introspection, horror, espionage/intrigue, slice of life, short stories, creative nonfiction, and yes, even romance.
5) There are so many ideas that I haven't gotten around to yet, and when I want to write any of those ideas, I write it, even if it may be up to over 100 words.
1. I don't write anymore, other than commenting on people's posts. I haven't posted or done a book review in ages. It's been even longer since I wrote a gardening article for the paper. Back when I wrote for the weekly paper, I just used what was blooming or needed doing in the garden as impetus.
2. On the sofa with my laptop.
3. Never really found one yet. Although when I wrote for the weekly paper, I found that a deadline worked pretty damn good.
4. Well, I've done more garden writing than anything else by FAR, so I guess it's my favorite. No single favorite, but horror, fantasy, non-fiction psychology, neurology, medical stuff, sociology...
5. A horror novel- and a GOOD one, not what I've started and given up on so far.
1-Here and there and from other fic writers. Mostly I think of ideas as missed possibilties or guilty pleasures.
2-My desktop PC. With headphones on to music.
3-I think I really get writer's block if I'm too distracted with other things going on in my life and don't have the energy to concentrate on writing. Most times I have written lengthy roughdrafts on multiple stories so I can focus more than one to prevent writer's block. With roughdrafts, I just write, don't worry about SPAG or it making perfect sense, just get it out on the screen and figure out the details later. If I am stuck on a story, I sit on it and ruminate where to go with it. I remember some good advice about writing stories. One of which was if I'm stuck on an ending(or the beginning) is to write 3 different versions of it. Or write the middle of the story and connect the beginning and ending to it.
4-Depends on the fandom I'm writing for! I like different genres and fandoms and depending on which inspires me, I write for that one.

There's no shame in taking a break. I've done that more than once.
Heh, my degree is in journalism. I used to work for a local paper, too, mostly doing feature material.
That's fascinating and now I have someone to come to with my gardening questions. Yay!
