1. Well, I thought I was retired, but a couple of days ago the son of our late client emailed me and asked if we could take care of the garden again this year, because they haven't decided whether to rent the place or sell it. So suddenly I'm a professional gardener again. But it's a beautiful place to work at, so other than the pain and tiredness, I'm okay with it. (plus, we need the money)
2. I hope not, but with the economy and politics of this country being what they are, I could well be.
3. Yes, we were already doing it back then.
4. Well, at one point I wanted to be a teacher, then a scientist, a horse breeder and trainer, a member of Star Fleet, a comic book artist, some other kind of artist, a writer....
5. Comic book artist. I'd love to go back to that. But there *is* that whole skillset thing, as in, I haven't drawn in decades.
Back in high school, I had a group of 13 teenage girls with super powers. These powers were given by a female deity, to be used to right wrongs. They were The Furies. I put time into figuring out what the powers were of each superhero, but in the end, I only ever used a few of them. Thirteen is just too many. If I ever were to start drawing them again, I'd use five at the most.
Why, yes, I read Marvel superhero comic books constantly!
1) I am happy with my current line of work, it's not what I envisioned for my life but it's good and honest work. What I don't like about it is the long hours X_X;
2) I think so, for 5 years, and maybe in 10 years, maybe something new will pop up.
3) I didn't, really, but I do put my secretarial skills to good use.
4) I wanted to be either an astronaut or a writer, and I'm definitely a writer.
5) I would have gone straight to writing as a full-time job.
I was always all over the place as to what I wanted to be when I grew up. I loved animals, plants but you can't be a biologist without a scary amount of math. And math and I are not friends.
So I became a linguist and a teacher which I loved, thankfully. I'm a decent writer but too lazy to have made a career of it. LOL
1. I like my job, not necessarily it's current version. And less then thrilled with employer. Don't like, most nights I am a glorified babysitter for confused and or drunk patients.
2. Praying that in 5 years I can join you in retirement. :o
3. Isn't it the same question as No. 2.
4. I wanted to be a baker.
5. There really isn't much of a call for it any more, but I think it would be fun to be a travel agent. :) Or just work for Disney World. :) Hugs, Jon
Trust me, working for Disney is not what it's cracked up to be. There's a seriously strict dress code, like no long hair, beard of moustaches on guys unless you are playing a part that requires one. My friend used to be an executive assistant to one of their VPs and is actually featured in their book, The Disney Way.
I think the job you do is very important and there's no one I'd rather have at my bedside than someone like you.

What a lovely thing to work at, though. Such life and beauty to surround your days.
Wow, you had a lot of' careers' as a kid! :DD

There's a reason why they only do so many superheroes at a time! Cool!

There's nothing wrong with that. I worked in a mail room for ten years. It wasn't a career, but it was a paycheck with regular hours and benefits.
I think you are a very good writer, too.

Hermana! Math and I are not on good terms, either. I love animals, but knew I could never do what it took to be a vet.
