1. Are you happy with your current line of work? What do you like/don't like about it?
2. Do you see yourself doing the same type of work in 5 years? What about 10?
3. Did you see yourself doing this type of work 5 years ago? What about 10?
4. Did you have a dream job as a child? What was it?
5. If you had to pick a radically different job from what you have now, regardless of whether you'd realistically be able to do it given your skillset, what would you pick and why?
1. I love my current line of work - being retired is just fine with me. When I was working, it was for a theatre and, yes, I enjoyed it for the most part. The creativity and the fact that it was never the same day twice in a row really appealed to me. Wish the pay was better, but you can’t have it all.
2. Being retired? I sure hope so.
3. I had hoped to be retired by 65 and ended up going out at 62, thanks to Covid.
4. Not really. I wanted to be a paleontologist when I was very young, but realized even then that I lacked the necessary patience. When I was in high school, I took a career test and it suggested journalism. I went for a degree in it and wasn’t really happy with the work. I love writing, but not like that. I adored theater, but didn’t think I could do it as a career. I retired with 30+ years in the theatre. Go figure.
5. I would have gone straight into theatre and saved myself a lot of grief.
