Sounds tasty. Reminds me of a lemon pudding cake I've made in the past. Although that one is flipped over so the 'pudding' on top.

Are you reading my mind? I've been thinking recently about a dessert from my childhood - it was a boxed baked pudding cake mix - you mixed up the batter, then you opened the package of sauce powder, and sprinkled it all over the batter, then you poured boiling water on top and baked it.

I am *certain* that making it from scratch is going to be FAR better - definitely making a note of this!

We got a cake mix from an Australian store in San Jose and it was like that. TBG remembered that we had mixes like you mention, too, but it was new to me.

So, so easy and definitely worth the effort.
