I liked him too. I think he was a great example of civility. Today so many people let hate consume them when they disagree with someone's politics. Reagan never did that. He never seemed to take political disagreements personally.

My family was/is full of veterans. My dad, his brothers, cousins... I always think of my dad on this day. I conserve his WW2 army jacket.

I think of my dad, too, not because of his service, but how frustrated he was that he couldn't serve. He tried everything, but he had TB as a kid and that made him ineligible, to his great shame. Both my brothers served and I tried, but like Dad, I was 4 F'd...

We both did, but TBG was f 4'd, too, and he was military all the way. Of course, he was going army, I was going navy. We never would have met if we'd been accepted into service. So, I'm pretty okay with how it turned out.
