I've just downloaded photos from my Coventry trip from my SD Card to my puter, via a card reader.

I'm having trouble doing anything with any of the photos - renaming, moving, creating a new folder and moving them to it - because I keep getting "the parameter is incorrect ( Read more... )

I do, and I used to do it that way, but was told it's easier/better/more reliable to use a Card Reader (and up til now it has been).

Do you think it's the number of photos that's the issue, and if so, how do I get around that? I can't just download some of the card, can I?

I've always understood that the photos stay on the card until you take positive steps to remove them so they should be OK.

The software on your puter that relates to the camera should give you the option of downloading some rather than all but with 300+ that might be a tedious task.
