I actually liked the newer animation? Mostly because it seemed on the whole more consistent, rather than "OMFG WE WENT CELL-SHADING CRAZZZZY". I also will admit I'm shallow and I like smooth animation, but yeah. After that I think I preferred the original series animation, then NEXT then TRY. I think I just hated the TRY dragons. I doubt I'll ever get over the dragons.
The whole prop 8 thing confused me from the moment it was put on the ballot (like--the prop bad, I know, but the way people write about it always makes me have to reread sentences to figure out exactly what I should be feeling), but I'm glad it's over, and I'm glad it went the right way.
And yay road trips! I've not been on one since spring break, although I almost drove all the way back to Yellow Springs yesterday. Boredom.
Fandom is a scary place to be (imo--frankly, the thought of sharing anything terrifies me), but I'm glad you did well and that people enjoyed your fic! :D I bet it was stupendous!
Also, we should do something before I leave (which is sooner than I want it to be)...?

Kelli and I drove through Yellow Springs on our roadtrip. It's such a neat little place (also I have a newspaper with your picture in it; Erin brought it over). Unfortunately it was in Yellow Springs where I ripped the bumper off my car. Oops.
The Demon's Lexicon fandom is not scary at all. Everyone is so nice and welcoming and I know I keep calling it a "shipwar" but most people are just friendly and so sweet and. Yes. I love it.
And YES WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING. Perhaps more than once. Uh, I'm going to the Irish fest with my parents for dad's birthday, but I could ask if they wouldn't mind you coming along. If not we shall just do something else fun!
I mean it wasn't confusing once I read the proposition. It's just how they advertised it. Kind of like Issue 2 in Ohio (which passed, dammit) advertised that it was good (duh, that's what advertising is) but in reality it meant shit to small, local farmers? My first impression of it wasn't of what it really was (if this is making any sense at all), so I have a hard time following updates when they're just headlines (because I'm too lazy to actually read full articles). Ahahaha, well, points go up tomorrow anyway, but really, it doesn't matter. I appologise for this - I should have realised people would want to squee about which fic was theirs ASAP. I think in future we may announce winners/authors of that before the bonus round, and then do a proper score round up after the bonus round. OMG WATCH SLAYERS. IT IS AMAZING. It seriously kinda changed my life. I still haven't seen any of the movies or the new series but I am such a fan already. Just. Watch it!
I remember loving Trigun when I was younger, except I was that awful kid who always wanted Vash to kill people (I had this problem with Rurouni Kenshin as well). If Soul Eater gets better I might go back to it. I really loved Maka, but the boob jokes wore on me so bad that I didn't manage to make it very far in. I have an incredibly low tolerance for boob gags I think. I'll have to check the other stuff out though! I've never heard of Ruin Explorers or Irresponsible Captain Tyler. Oh anime.
The news coverage where I was focused on how upset people were, so mostly I ended up getting really angry but. It's just really excited. I was watching the news with my girlfriend and even my mom kinda smiled and. It was awesome. I hope you can get married some day!
