Who kicked ass? I kicked ass.

I'm done with the first semester of my junior year. I don't have to take any incompletes, and I only needed a handful of extensions. Moreover, I think I did well in all of my classes. I'm on break, and I can relax. No more forcing myself to write a research paper on three hours of sleep, or last-minute extra-credit assignments. I can relax -- ( Read more... )

Aw, your picture is super cute! The brown haired girl is my favorite ( though I may have a bit of a bias).

Have fun on your piercing adventure!

Super cute! And awesome just getting through the semester! From now on it can be easier!

And don't sweat it about the going to bed at 11 deal. I am going to fluff my laundry, fold it, and then take a bubble bath with a book. WE ARE THE BEST COLLEGE STUDENTS highfive

Every time I see it, all I can think is "iz SO COOL" (even if the scanner did mess up the colors).

So you didn't do the piercing today? Lemme know how it goes! And send pictures!

Also also- my mom said we'd probably have to figure out the car thing, but that I can drive to see you after New Year's. :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I could always drive and pick you up? I'm not sure what my schedule will look like. At the very least, there's that week right before we go back that could be fun to hang out during? Hahaha, I wonder if your parents would let you leave home a week early.

Definitely a couple days at least. :) And if you do become desperate enough to pick me up, we can always try!

Yaaaaay making it through the semester alive and well! *high five*

And this post was well timed because it cheered me up; I was feeling really down before I read it and saw the adorable Dvorak-inspired drawing and was filled with sunshine and kittens. Adorable does the soul good.

And out of curiosity, what are the really neat, symbolic reasons stormantia is getting her nose pierced?

Were you feeling bad for any reasons?

And the reasons are thus: really neat, symbolic reasons. It actually turned out pretty cute!

The reason I was feeling bad is probably going to sound incredibly stupid. I don't know if you saw my Facebook status, but that night I had watched "Gremlins," about which I initially thought, "Eh, I'll give it a shot. Cheesy 80's sci-fan/horror/comedy, why not?" But there was one character who

a) made some comments early in the movie that could actually be kind of triggering
b) told a story that was meant to be depressing, but that really did hit just about every "sad" button I own. (Her dad died on Christmas Eve by trying to go down the chimney dressed as Santa Claus but he broke his neck and they didn't find him until they lit a fire a few days later and it smelled like dead.)

And it wasn't like the rest of the movie made up for it in any way, shape, or form.

I should probably just comment on her LJ or something, but I'm really happy for Kelli and think it's cool that she's doing that kind of self-reflection. How did yours turn out?

"made some comments early in the movie that could actually be kind of triggering" Not for me personally. Can't find the edit button.

Go spiderstars! You kick ass and so does your Azula icon!

Also, your art is adorable. I am going to make you show me your sketchbook when I get home. So I can coo over it, and whack you over the head if you try to make any self-deprecating comments.
