Who kicked ass? I kicked ass.

I'm done with the first semester of my junior year. I don't have to take any incompletes, and I only needed a handful of extensions. Moreover, I think I did well in all of my classes. I'm on break, and I can relax. No more forcing myself to write a research paper on three hours of sleep, or last-minute extra-credit assignments. I can relax -- and I haven't been able to do that for about two years.

Anyway, I did end up drawing something for one of my classes, and I liked how it turned out, so I figured I'd share it here.

I drew it to the trio of the third movement from Dvorak's Piano Quintet No. 2, Op. 81. The entire piece is incredibly gorgeous. Dvorak is, I think, my favorite composer. His music, even the obnoxiously upbeat stuff, is always layered, expressive and powerful. For anyone who doesn't hate "classical" music with the power of a thousand burning suns, I'd recommend checking his stuff out. I can gladly offer suggestions.

Anyway, I'm not really an artist in the way that some of the people who read this journal are, but I enjoyed doing this, and I'm pretty proud of how it came out. I think it looks better in reality -- the scanner really messed up the colors here.

If you're interested, a larger version is up at Deviant Art.

Tomorrow I am going with stormantia to the short north. She's getting a nose piercing for really neat, symbolic reasons. I'm getting my tragus, and possibly some other ear-bits, pierced because I think they're really freaking cool and I've wanted to since high school. So yes. I am excited!

Now. I am going to go to bed at 11 o'clock like a loser. Thank you.

life: college, +art, changes, lookit: i made art, i am: a pretty awesome lady, crossing the finish line
