The porn part was annoying and the getting married thing was kinda trite, but I felt like they probably had to make a few concessions to Hollywood. I think I was most impressed by how the characters got to all have a little more depth to them than in your usual wacky sex comdey. And the totally random ending was insanely hilarious.
Oh and if you want to see an awesome Catherine Keener movie, see Living in Oblivion with her and Steve Buscemi.
Yeah, I did appreciate the characters, and I don't have serious problems with anything in the movie. If anything, it adds an interesting conflict that Keener was so prudish when it came to porn. That's just a part of her character. But I still thought it was silly...
