They Don't Have Independence Day in England

My Saturday plans were to include a sly Netflix gambit of watching a movie and returning it the same day, but the last pick-up was at 2:30, and my mail did not arrive in time! So instead I went to the comic book store and dropped off postcards for the SF Olympians Festival and geeked out about Justice League. Then I visited Jess and Colin and met ( Read more... )

A few days ago, I was forced to upgrade to new AIM because they claimed my beloved AIM 5.9 was going away,

What?! NO. Who said this?!
When there was that whole big buddy-list fiasco the other week, with people's buddy lists disappearing when they did that server upgrade, I thought the problem was that the new servers weren't compatible with 5.9, because the buddy-list showed up with AIM Express. But then it came back and everything was fine.

I despise newer AIMs. I've tried them multiple times.

AIM said this! It's all it said! "Hurry, upgrade now, this version will be going away soon!" It could have been lies.

I despise newer AIMs. I've tried them multiple times.
I like the automatic log file and the possibility that I could use it for Facebook Chat, though I haven't messed with that. And the automatic Away message display isn't bad. Everything else, though? GRRRRR. Why do they have to fuck everything up? THIS IS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT.

Sounds like a fun time!

I celebrated the Fourth of July by watching an American Movie Classic: Predator. What did our forefathers want? To get to da choppah!! When did they want it? NOW!!!

Hee. :)

Oh, I'm glad someone liked that because I thought that was pretty funny, myself. It was like the sort of thing I would post on Twitter if I did that sort of thing.

In fact, I will give it some airplay on Facebook to see how it fares there.

As a person who didn't have a car of her own for a long time, I'm so proud of your chasing-them-down, going-out-of-your-way, ride-offering ways.
