Stop Promoting Me Pastries

Sep 07, 2008 16:55

Today, I headed into the city to check out the mobile Pie Hole for the Pushing Daisies Touch of Wonder Tour. And I intended to post about it, but I realized I never wrote about my trip to the Kwik-E-Mart last year! You may remember that, to promote The Simpsons Movie, a dozen 7-11s across the country were converted into Kwik-E-Marts. Luckily, one ( Read more... )

pictures, such is life, pushing daisies, pimpings, family, personal, in a world without threads

I just found out that Lee Pace was in my town for A MONTH this summer. A MONTH!!! Less than a mile from my dad's!! Supposedly he's coming back, so maybe we'll go out to breakfast at the same place or something next time. He could have even eaten my mom's pie!! (she's the baker at 2 out of 3 restaurants on our little island)

I know! I'm going to be ready at all times for when he comes back... though I guess it might not be until next summer, but the person I talked to made it seem like it would be sooner than that. Scott Speedman was also here for a photoshoot at the same time, but he didn't stick around as long.

Hey this doesn't have anything to do with the post (although both those events look awesome!) but I read something today in one of my favourite blogs that I thought might interest you. It's a blog about US/UK linguistic differences, and today she talked about the word "partner". I seem to remember a while back having a conversation with you about its usage?

ETA: Sorry. For some reason it took me like 3 edits to get that link right! Slow day...

Aww, now I am simultaneously sad that I forgot, and not so sad, since a) it wasn't that cool, and b) Fisherman's Wharf is to be avoided at all costs, unless Lee Pace is there and wants to serve me pie personally. Naked.

(Though I could certainly have done with one of those DVD sets. A whole week more!)

Fisherman's Wharf sure is full of people!

I wish I'd snagged one of the DVD sets! I was hanging around there for almost an hour! Gah.

Apu had to go and ruin the illusion.

I totally get this. I finally got around to reading the Harry Potter charity books ("Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "Quidditch Through the Ages") only to see Dumbledore using the foreword to tell readers "the amusing creatures described herein are fictional and cannot hurt you." What kind of a fake book are you?

Oh man, that's totally lame! I've been wanting to get those, but, come on, Dumbledore! You ass.
