По одной из версий, все очень просто. Около двух тысяч лет назад первосвященникк Иешуа бен Гамла издал указ, по которому каждый еврейский отец должен отправить своих сыновей в школу, чтобы те могли читать и понимать еврейский закон. В те времена польза грамотности была неочевидной и многие евреи перешли в новую и менее строгую секту, известную ныне как христианство. Вот так происходила селекция -- поколение за поколением менее способные к грамоте становились христианами, а среди оставшихся в евреях в способность к обоазованию в среднем увеличивалась.
