That was awesome, hon!

I like to think that's when Zoe left Cal. It somehow makes sense, and explains why Zoe doesn't really like Gillian. If the two separated at that time, and Gillian started to work with Cal just after that, she would feel like Gillian was her replacement. So yeah, I think that quite work that way!

I'm glad Gillian came to see Cal, and that she wanted to work with him. And I like that he wanted to talk to her about his mother, and that she would listen, as a friend.

That was truly awesome! I love it very very much!

I'm sorry I've taken FOREVER to answer this, sweetie. I'm terrible! But anyway, I'm so happy you liked it!! *dances*

And you're right about Gillian and Zoe, even though it kind of works both ways. Because the years that Zoe and Cal spent together, that had Gillian in them, I can imagine Zoe building up a resentment to Gillian considering the way Zoe thought she was the one that could "always get through."

Thank you! For all the lovely thoughts, honey!!

Yes, both works, and now that we know Cal begged Gillian to come and work with him, it's also easy to see another cause for Zoe's resentment to Gillian!

*hugs*

Oh very nice. I so adore pre-series fic for these two, because you just sort of want to see it all, you know?

I just really enjoyed the whole tone of thi sfic, it sort of felt like watching a memory unfold. Great job.

Oh, really? Thank you so much. And mostly because I've read a fic or two of yours, I think (I can't remember if I replied, i'm pretty sure I did because I do...*scratches head* Great now I can't remember...I'll do so from now on! I'll make a point of it.) ANYWAY - Yours are good and it's nice to get a comment on my first work in the fandom, from someone that also writes. So I appreciate that because I'm so very nervous about characterization, my first time out.

I'm so happy you liked the tone of this. Thank you!

I told you several times already, but it bears repeating - this is fantastic - in a realistic and smart kind of way. I love how realistically you write them, I could imagine seeing all of this on screen, actually I wondered if there were scenes similar to what you have written. Cal to me sounds like Cal, sharp and observant and smart and dark somewhere deep inside. I think you tackled onto that without making him too dark or tragic.

Secondly, you know your stuff. This sounds realistic and believable in terms of science behind the story - I just adore the part when he says "micro-expressions - you just had one". I love that, and when they talk about how groundbreaking it is, because it was - the discovery of micro expressions changed our understanding of all aspects of human communication. I love that you made this reference ( ... )

I'm going to reply to you, even though I don't have to, because we talk about this stuff ALL the time, lol. But it's always nice to get a reply, even if it's a week late. LOLZ.

ILU!♥ - No, seriously, not kidding. Because when you talk about this stuff, you mean it and that's SO awesome beyond words. It makes me feel like I've really done something right and also makes me feel like I wish fanfiction wasn't the only thing I could write.

But I do love the relationship Cal and Gillian have, in any form. I mean, they have a bond that's extremely hard to define. Because it's love and it's devotion, but it's not the regular, run-of-the-mill kind. And it's remarkably unconditional; it feels eternal and you wonder what it is that got them that way. It goes way beyond simple chemistry.

And it's an amazing pleasure to write when you realise that you've gotten it right. *dead* It makes you just wanna keep on writing them.

Oh, this is wonderful! As another commenter said, there is so much pre-series goodness that I'd love to see between the two of them, and this is a great window into it.
