Glee "Never Been Kissed"

Thoughts on Glee:

Kurt gets first {real} kiss from homophobic closeted A-hole: and Gleeks across the nation go “CALLED IT!” including this one! Closeted case that took it out on the openly gay kid - that was so obvious from the start! Not a shocker to anyone who was paying attention and knew the studies on the amount of homophobic people that ( Read more... )

Kurt being an "honorary girl" ryan_e November 20 2010, 07:48:09 UTC
I don't think that Kurt saying that he's an honorary girl, and siding with the girls, makes it seem as though the writers think he's trans. For one, it's "honorary girl" - he's said before that he's a guy. More importantly, I think that him wanting to join the girls' group is more a matter of being more comfortable with the girls than with the guys, not a matter of identifying as a girl as opposed to a guy ( ... )

Oh, no I meant that one of the writes write him as if he was trans and the others write him as a gay kid - because Glee has different writers it comes across as kinda...weird.

It does make sense, for all the reasons you said, that Kurt would be more comfortable with the girls than the guys, but that's not quite what I meant. I meant that it really does seem like one of the writers writes him like a straight female, while the others write him as a gay guy, so it just comes off kinda off-kilter. All the times when it seems like Kurt's leaning towards "I'm really a girl in a guy's body" I know that writing is from that one writer and I ignore those signals because Kurt's not trans, he's just gay.

And you weren't being at all repetitive, it was very straightforward and clear. =D
