Heh, I can so see the teenage version of Jim, cocky as all hell, still trying to leap in with both feet but being smacked down -- for his own good and the good of the ship in this case.

I'm exceptionally curious about why Bones is there, unless it's a usual assignation... or Spock tipped him off that all was not right with Jim.
