You get used to it after a while. This was actually far easier to understand than if she'd only used one English word in there, but we hear people saying (trying to say, more accurately) "landlord" and "complaint" all the time.

that's strange. like, i would consider that non-standard English, obviously, don't most people know how to code switch? i mean, speak in one language or the other! :-P
i can understand why that happens though i suppose!
'Fraid not. I don't have a decal. But yeah, that's too weird. There are several other people in the department I was in at Rutgers who had done BAs at W&M-it's a popular place for NJ kids to go for undergrad, I guess.

I got my B.A. at W&M and just finished my M.A. at Rutgers (English for both)
