Are you certain you are not sick? If you are not feeling good it is important that you rest until you are feeling better!

Exercise is the answer to being sick, so I should get out.

You know, if you're feeling sick, you probably should stay in bed.

Staying in bed does not seem like the right thing to do. But I will try it for a day.

Rest is the best cure for when you're sick.

I think Bell, Lotus and Genius are right, Youth. Rest is how you fight a cold, not running around--feel better soon!

You do not defeat an opponent on your back; that is not fighting! But thank you.

of course she puts it in these terms ice_echani April 27 2010, 12:05:54 UTC
If you remain active while you are sick, your immune system will have less energy with which to fight off the pathogens that have infected you. Even if you do not feel that you are doing anything while resting, you are actually allowing your body the proper resources with which to battle the sickness and defeat it.

It's one of few ways to get through to him. spandexisyouth April 27 2010, 21:46:17 UTC
Oh. I thought that exercise sped up the metabolism which sped up everything else. Exercise hurts it?

In this case, yes, exercise is detrimental to your immediate health. When you are sick, you become fatigued more easily because the pathogen is weakening your body. Exercising would force your muscles to take energy that your immune system needs to produce white blood cells and antibodies that attack the infection.

The fatigue you feel from sickness is from the battle that is inside of you. By resting, you allow energy to replenish, which gives your immune system more to fight with.

So it is draining strength from me and I need the strength to fight this off. Cooperating means I win the battle.
