I can't say how happy I am that Diego López finally got called up for the Selección. Of course, it's highly unlikely he'll get to play, but he's been fantastic in La Liga and the Champions League recently and deserves being part of the national team!

*applauds* after recovering from the shock of seeing Diego mentioned here

I love Diego. He's been marvelous since he moved to Villarreal and truly deserves the accolades! He had another good day yesterday, too.

Hee, yes, he's getting far too little attention. Which is unfair because he's awesome. I like him a lot, and I'm definitely going to spam this community with more Diego when I find some! XDD

I wish I had seen yesterday's match. I got home too late and missed it. *pouts* Well, maybe I can find a torrent somewhere. And the highlights of the Atlético match because apparently he rocked that one, too. :D

Yep, he was MOTM for the game against Atleti, to which he said "That's not a good thing, though."

Love his sense of humor! He made a great save yesterday, stretched out and dove to his left, got a fingertip on the ball to turn it around the post. Fabulous! I'm such a Villarreal fangirl LOL.

He is an amazing goalkeeper and he has proven that nearly every match since he came to Villareal. His call up made me so happy :D He really deserves it and I wish he would get some playing time but with Iker and Pepe that is unlikely. Maybe during the next friendly, who knows.

I agree completely! I was so happy to finally see him getting called up, he deserves it so much. :) And from what I know about him, I'm sure he's perfectly happy being the #3 behind Casillas and Reina, content that he's a part of this fantastic national team. :)

(I'm hoping for Del Bosque to give him some play time in a friendly, though. That would be fantastic. :D)

I was talking to m brother when I read the news and I just shouted "Diego has been called up" in the middle of the conversation... I could hear him rolling his eyes at the other end of the phone, lol.
Yeah, I like my boys and it makes me happy when they get what they deserve. Now, let's win the Champions League!

LOL! I told my family and my workmates (those that are interested in football) and they were all like WTF? Nobody here knows who Villarreal are, unfortunately. I'm sure they had a good laugh at me for being such a dork. *LOL*

(I assume Villarreal is your #1 club? I hope you don't stop talking to me if I tell you that I have sympathies for more than just one Spanish club, and that my Spanish #1 isn't Villarreal... *hides* But in any case, I do hope Villarreal will beat Arsenal, and then hopefully Manchester United! XD)
