He tried to make me promise that if he broke his ankle on the stairs or had a heart attack or anything, I would just move to the end of the row and let the EMS take care of him, pretending I didn't know him so I couldn't blame him later for missing The Cure.

You should have got that in writing before the show! *hee* But his ankle couldn't have broken. Rimpy wasn't there to sleep on it!

No, I totally couldn't have enjoyed the show then. I would have had to have gotten him to let me travel to see another show to make up for it. Heh. Nono, D really is more important than The Cure. Even though I've been trying to see them twice as long as I've known him. Ha!

Yes, it's a good thing Rimpy wasn't there. He's ferocious.

*sigh*

The last time I saw them was in Zurich in 2000. My friend is a DIE-HARD fan (She's got tix for 3 different dates on this tour alone) and I went with her to see them in Germany and Switzerland... the exchange rate was nearly 2:1 against the Deutschmark (Mourn!). The irst time I saw them was in Cleveland in 1989. They opened with Plainsong and I wept. Like, literally wept. I miss the way I used to get comletely swept away by music. I haven't felt that in a long time.

I've seen more shows by more bands and singers than most people ever will, but I've actually had a backstage pass to meet The Cure and had to leave the country I lived in for three weeks instead. One time I was actually in the parking lot of the gig and my date lost the tickets. I cried. Seriously. That was in the 80s, a sold out show in Los Angeles. It's been awful, but it was worth it! Heh ( ... )

Oh, gosh, the first time I saw David Bowie in 1987, I cried so much. He was awesome. And that was even a crappy tour, comparatively speaking. But he did have Duran Duran opening for him, so that was a bonus.*DIES ( ... )

Jeez, I wish I lived near you. I'd pester you into it at least once in a while, especially since we seem to have some tastes in common. :)

I saw the Sound + Vision Tour. Two nights at the London Docklands Arena. I still have a shirt from each night. Funny, now that you mention, I can't remember if there was an opener for those shows, either... And then I saw him again on the Outside tour with NIN and Prick. That was a really well put-together show, and I was in the front row in Austin, Texas. It was a very satisfactory show. I actually think I still have a shirt from all the Bowie shows I've been too. Ha.

My friend in San Fran saw Duran Duran not too long ago, and she had a good time, but I think that was last time they toured, not this most recent time. I've only seen them the one time. I don't know what I'd think of a current show of theirs.

i have never seen the cure and have always wanted to - AMEN! indeed! and that's a wonderful mix of old and new songs, 'night like this' is probably my favourite cure song.

Seriously. I have been as close as the actualy parking lot of the venue and then been denied. I've tried more than half a dozen times over the years. I am such a happy bee right now. *sigh*

Favourite song...! That's so hard! I'm like that about all my faves, I can't pick one song. There's no way I could ever pick one Bowie song, ever. Heh. I've liked The Cure only a few years less than Bowie, maybe six. Both are childhood loves who have followed me all the way into adulthood. <3

Wish you'd been there, Bunny! That would've rocked! :)

I have so many Cure song memories. They were the soundtrack to my teen years. *sigh*

I cry all the time at Bowie shows. He's a very emotional show for me. <3

I think it takes a lot of people back, how far just depends on how old you are. Heh.
