Last night was so fantastic. The curse keeping me from ever being able to see The Cure has been broken, finally, after 26 years. Can I get an AMEN?
Yesterday was a little weird in the cursebreaking department, though...
I nearly got stuck in an elevator at D's office building. And my hair was still wet while I was in there, too. His office is five minutes from our house, so I went to pick him up, thinking I'd come back here, fix my hair while he took a quick nap, and then we'd go. But I forgot my stupid cell phone. And you can't just walk into his office. You have to have a security clearance and a key card and everything just to get onto his floor. So I had to go through all this stupid junk just to go to the management office on the 11th floor with wet hair to call him and tell him to come out. And then nearly spent the whole show in an elevator.
Once I sat down in my actual seat, I did not move again until Robert Smith was actually on the stage. D kept saying, "Why don't you go get a snack, it's going to be a while," and stuff like that. I was just like, "NO! Something could still happen." He tried to make me promise that if he broke his ankle on the stairs or had a heart attack or anything, I would just move to the end of the row and let the EMS take care of him, pretending I didn't know him so I couldn't blame him later for missing The Cure. Heh.
But, it was fantastic. They played for three hours without a break. Anyone who cares, here is the
