You know, when I first moved into my place, Mt. Pinatubo had erupted the previous year, and I remember that the summer that followed was so cool, I never needed to worry about a/c.

I'm wondering how this Icelandic volcano will affect the temperatures for the coming year. Brrrrrrr.

The snow started again as I was leaving the office at lunchtime to go gas up the car. After that, I ran to Lowe's to get some more sidewalk deicer, bird seed (poor little birdies), and, I'd hoped, a battery powered lamp of some kind. The clerk I asked directed me to flashlights. We got snow. Lots of it. The heaviest snowfall we've had here in probably a decade. Just heard on the news it's the biggest storm since 2003. I took a ruler outside and it's almost 7 inches in my backyard, and the snow is still falling. They're predicting 8 - 16 inches in the tri-state area. It's 21oF (-6C). And that's just in my office. Okay, that's the outside temp, but it feels that cold in my office.
