I'm getting my hair cut tonight after work. \o/ It's really gotten to the point where it's hard to dry and style. Chop it off, I say! I just have to remember to tell my hairdresser to not cut my bangs up to the top of my head. I hate that ( Read more... )

I've never made it through any of Henry James' work, sad to say. There's just something about his style that puts me off.

Breakfast sounds delicious. I'm having...well, it's not as nice as yours. I should look at doing the fruit route in the morning as I could have it at my desk. (Breakfast is the only meal i'll eat at my desk.)

Good luck on the hair cut; I should get a trim, but since the last time I asked for three inches and she took a foot, I need someone new and am feeling a bit gun-shy.

James' writing style is way too florid. By the time you get to the end of the sentence, you've completely lost the point.

Breakfast was very good, but now it's lunch time and I'm absolutely starving. Fruit just never sticks with me very long.

My stylist is good except for the scalping of the bangs. LOL

So jealous about your hair cut! I had some money put away for one last week...then had a horrible cold and had to spend the money on doctor visits and antibiotics. (wah!)

Well that sucks. I usually wait until I can't stand it any more, and then if I don't get it cut RIGHT AWAY, I go a little crazy. LOL

You know, I've been thinking a lot about fanfic vs. canon lately, and I have to agree with you. I don't seek out a lot of SG-1 fic, because I really liked the show overall. I read a ton of SGA fic, though, because I did not like the last season (or two). The more I like the show, the less likely I am to read/write fic, and the more disgusted I am with the show, the more likely I am to read/write fic.

While I've read dribs and drabs of other fanfic, the only two shows that I've been really into both reading and writing fanfic was Buffy and SGA. I started with SGA because after S1, I was so in love with the show, I couldn't wait for the new season and I went hunting for adventure fic. I ended up discovering McShep. It was a total revelation of, OMG!YES! and I've never turned back. :-)

I always had trouble getting through James. Just not my cup of tea, I prefer more straightforward storytelling.

I just wish more people were still writing SGA stories. The flow has definitely slowed down.

I finally just gave up on the book and took it back. Too much like work! LOL

I find that I'm going back in the archives and rereading old favorites. I just finished tarlanx's Draconian Measures which was a Big Bang from a couple of years ago. I'd forgotten just how good that was!
