Only two more sleeps until the Super Bowl!

Well, my washer and dryer arrived yesterday, and were installed. I didn't try them out other then the initial test, so we'll see this weekend when I do my laundry how well they work. As for today, I am at work, although as I was creeping down the snow-covered, slippery road with the wipers brushing the heavily falling snow off the windshield, I ( Read more... )

We had a Steelers dress down day here too. My husband is on a business trip this week down on the VA coast, and he's been wearing his Steelers hat all week. People wearing Steelers gear keep coming up and talking to him. :)

Someone I know went to see 'The Sixth Sense' with her mother. Five minutes in, she'd guessed the 'twist'. Could she keep her mouth shut so that her poor mother could enjoy the film?

I would have slapped her *so* hard. That story still makes me mad - LOL! I need to get over it.

Oh, that is horrible! The best thing about that movie is being so shocked at the end. Really, some people just don't think!

I *know*! The best thing is the very end - didn't they even ask people who'd seen the film not to give away the ending to the people in line? I thought that was really nice.

I always feel for that woman's mother. She should have stood up - demanded that her daughter pay for another movie and walked out!

In the last few months of S7 Buffy, I had to take someone of my flist because she just couldn't help herself. (I emailed her privately to say it was nothing personal and that I'd put her back on my flist after the series finale, which I did. Interestingly, I think that made her much more conscious of what she did before hitting the "post" button because she's very meticulous now).

There's also a spoiler grey area. Plot points are clearly spoiley. But what about mood? For instance if someone cuts for their episode discussion, but says on their entry screen that the episode depressed them? Well to me that's spoiley. To others, not.

RL is even more vexed. Things just pop out of people's mouths before you can put your fist into their mouths.

Yeah, the mood thing is very iffy, because something that might depress you may not bother me, and vice versa. The person may not think that is spoilery but in reality it could make one more liable to watch the show with certain expectations they wouldn't have had if they'd didn't go in with someone's else's reaction in mind.

That's also why I hate cut tags that say Squeeeeeeeee. Your squee may be my ick. Even lj mood themes can be spoilery in that way which is why a lot of communities ban them for episode discussions.
