Only two more sleeps until the Super Bowl!

Well, my washer and dryer arrived yesterday, and were installed. I didn't try them out other then the initial test, so we'll see this weekend when I do my laundry how well they work. As for today, I am at work, although as I was creeping down the snow-covered, slippery road with the wipers brushing the heavily falling snow off the windshield, I wondered what the hell I was doing. However, I made it to work safely, but decided to park at a meter next to the building instead of in the parking lot two blocks away.

Almost the entire staff of both the city and county are decked out in Steelers' gear. I, myself, am wearing my Steelers sweatshirt and a pair of awesome dangly Steelers earrings. When one walks the halls, one can hear random people saying, "Go Steelers!" as they enter/exit offices. It's very amusing. Our city manager (the Browns fan) snarled to the city clerk this morning that he hoped the Steelers lost. He is a total asshole.

I may not go to my brother's house for the Super Bowl party. I'm just not sure if I want to drive up the hill where he lives. However, the temperature is supposed to be a blazing 43o on Sunday, so maybe I will. I'm going to wait for the day and see how the weather is.

Today's Writer's Block question was:

Have you ever ruined the ending or given away plot developments in a book, movie, or tv show by telling someone who hasn't seen or read it what happens? Has anyone ever done this to you?
I try very hard to not spoil anyone, however, I'm sure I have inadvertently. As for me being spoiled, there's a woman I work with whose son is/was a big Harry Potter fan, and, in fact, she's the one that first got me started reading the books. One day, we were talking about the latest Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which I hadn't read yet, and which she knew I hadn't read yet, and she spoiled me for the important plot point involving Sirius. Man, did that piss me off, and I told her, not too kindly, "Thanks for spoiling that for me."

Another person who just could not keep her mouth shut was my former hairdresser. She would be telling me about a movie that she had really liked, and I'd tell her that it sounded interesting, and then she would proceed to tell me the entire plot to the point where I was no longer interested in seeing the movie. What made this so irritating is that I had told her several times I didn't like to be spoiled for books/movies I hadn't read/seen yet. Made. Me. Crazy.

And, of course, being in fandom, it's far too easy to get spoiled just by clicking on the wrong link, or going to the wrong website, or reading the wrong journal at the wrong time. That's one big drawback about being involved in online fandom when you're a spoilerphobe. I got horribly spoiled about two weeks after the end of BtVS Season 6. I had imagined a lovely summer of speculating whether or not Spike had gotten his soul by design or deceit, and some big-mouth asshole on the TWoP forums spoiled it for me. Of course, there is still much debate between Spike-haters and Spike-lovers over that point. *g*
