WVU is now...

#3 in the BCS poll, and I'm now a complete nervous wreck over Thursday's upcoming game. The chances that WVU might - might - get to play for the National Championship is kind of mind-blowing. I'm not sure if I'll be able to stand watching the game.

Yes, this kind of stuff really excites me. *g*

The Steelers, on the other hand, do not. Just as kellyhkRead more... )

I was wondering about those Jennie-O turkeys. That's good to know. Now I can avoid

Yeah, not quite turkey roll, but very similar in taste. Convenient, but you'd be much better off just buying a turkey breast and going through the trouble of roasting it yourself.

yeah I'm sure I would anyhow. I like to cook. I just don't know what to do with a whole (even a little turkey) since I don't eat dark meat and neither does my expected guest...guess Roy the cat will have plenty of cat food... (since turkey breasts by themselves WAY more expensive than a whole turkey)

I'm the same. I never buy a turkey just for myself for the same reason - I don't care for the dark meat, and yes, turkey breasts alone are very expensive.

I am going to try the Bob Evans turkey breast entree just to see if it's any better. I'll post a report. *g*

I'm sooo nervous about Thursday too. All of the pieces are there to make it to the national championship game if we just keep on winning. It's just scary. I know that we can beat Louisville, but I'm just not sure if we will.

I know! And it doesn't help when almost every commentator on Saturday kept talking about Thursday's game being the big one and how important it was and EEEEEEE! National recognition and grudging respect!

I'm going to need the good drugs for Thursday night. :)

When the pros suck? Time to embrace College Football with all your heart.

We're 17, but hey, we're in the top 25 (what, with OSU and Michigan in the big ten, I'm happy with 17 this year)

Dude, I have been loving college football this year. I've not only been following my beloved Mountaineers, but I've been watching Clemson (who disappointed me Thursday) and UT with their bright little baby QB, Colt McCoy.

Hugs to you.

And I sympathize re parents. I'm not there yet with my dad who lives 1200 miles away, but I do make him call me as soon as he gets home from a visit with my brother, who lives an hour and a half away from him. (He could fall asleep on the road! He has a tendency to drift off!) ;-) And I hound him about his exercise, eating, doctors appointments.

Yes, more and more I've become the parent in our relationship. It started, more or less, when I had to take over responsibility for their finances, and then I made them move into the highrise when they could no longer handle the stairs in their house, and now, just making sure they take their medication properly and eat nourishing meals every day. And I've seen a big difference, especially in my mother, just in the short time I've been doing it.

Actually, pretty good so far. At least with my SIL going to see to their lunch, I don't have to run over there twice a day, so it's not too bad right now. Once the snow starts flying and I have to leave my nice warm house on the weekends? I may not be so sanquine. *g*
