Hmmm...what to say about this chapter...oh yeah! I want to pound it into little bits and flush it down the toilet! Hey! If I didn't have the rest of the chapters already written, this is the point at which I would've given up on this story. Seriously, though. Do you know how when you repeat a word over and over and over again it eventually loses

And I'm ready for you to redeem Logan now, please. :-D At least a little, wittle bit? For me? Pwease?
Favorite part: "Logan Echolls," a rough voice called, cutting into their argument. She whipped her head around to see an immense, bald-headed, wife-beater-sporting mountain of a man staring at them from the doorway of the building. His Neanderthal eyebrows were drawn together, and he didn’t look happy. Her uneasiness started tumbling toward fear.
You just have such a way with words, from describing the setting to human emotions to actions. You rock.

But man has Logan ever hit bottom in this story's backstory. I hope he's really been undercover or something to take the edge off the heavy duty drug trade milieu. I trust you, and I'll stick by it even if he's truly that screwed up, but whoa.
(BTW, I lived in LA for years; if you need any info on the city just leave your email address on my LJ and I'll write you. Of course I wasn't hanging out in South Central, so I may not be as useful as all that...)

Thanks for the offer of LA info. Only a very small portion of the rest of the story takes place there, but it's good to have a resource. I've only been there once or twice, so I'm going off very hazy memories.

Man. This chapter was intense with the beating Logan up and the gun and the big scary dude promising his equivalent of hellfire and damnation. I loved it. I love that Logan is still a fuck-up and all about acting and speaking first before he thinks. I love that he can't *not* snark. I love that he's still got a warped sense of nobility and responsibility. I love that he was all indignant about giving up his car (dude, seriously, GIVE HIM you car). I love that Veronica's reaction mirrored her reaction in Ahoy Mateys. I love that she hit him because he so ( ... )

Yeah, I always just think of him taunting his father in S1, even though he KNEW he was going to get a beatdown for it. He's such a masochist when it comes to himself, but when it comes to Veronica (or his mother, or his sister, or Hannah, etc.) he gets so serious and protective. Dude, Logan Echolls has made masochism hot.
I'm glad the intensity came through. I was just so freaking disenchanted by the time I actually went to post this...I still can't really read the whole thing through without cringing. Anyway, new chapter asap, I promise.
