I had a job interview this morning and I was hired! A couple of days ago the secretary of the French Department forwarded an e-mail from someone looking for native speakers to do some recordings. It's a short-term project, and although it'll cut on my riding time (since I can't afford to cut on my dissertation time), it pays about $20 an hour. So I ( Read more... )

hope the buns like it! I picked up a rye grass bale a month ago since they were out of timothy too. Beauty seems to be enjoying it, even more than the timothy. Happy buns :D

The cats sure seem to enjoy the new hay. The bunnies have tried it but they haven't really made a meal out of it yet. We'll see. Even if they don't like it, it was worth trying. And I can always give it to the horses! They'll eat it for sure!

Working for money sounds great! Give the farmers' market another chance, a little later in the season. Tomatoes should be out in a couple/few weeks. I was there this morning and limited myself to three things, because I have a tendancy to buy too much stuff and then let some of it go bad in the fridge. If you get there earlier in the morning, there's usually more variety left, too.

The problem is that I CAN'T get early on Saturday's. I did today for my job interview, but that was an exception. The market is not big enough motivation to set my alarm I'm afraid.

congrats on the job!
our farmers market doesn't open until next week. I'm excited to see what kind of produce they have b/c I have been turning itno a serious produce snob.

Sigh, I wish I went to that High School...so pretty.

I've noticed that good things have turned me into a snob as well.

Congratulations on the job!

I have been vastly underwhelmed by the big farmers market here, too. I went a couple of times because it's a pretty big event for the summers here and saw that I could sleep in and still get better produce at the local supermarket.
