my wings are made of hay and cornhusks

I've been storing up my craftiness so I can inflict it on you in one big post, heh. This is what I've been making the last couple of weeks. Because nothing helps a bad mood like crafting :D

... that might seem snarky. Actually, I totally mean that. Crafty things are joy!

James, you are officially not allowed to click here! Nor is anyone who does not wish to see many pictures of what I think are... pretty things. No, really! )

knitty and witty and gay, as a picture

Hey, if we're ever in the same place I would be happy to teach you! It's way easier than it sounds. :)

(Don't worry, I won't actually force you to, hee.)

The pi scarf is all kinds of awesome. Plus it looks good!

I think your poppers are snaps, ha ha.

Snaps! Yes, that's definitely the American name for 'em... I think we Brits might have another name, but I still can't remember what it is, heh.

And thankyou. :)

Noro colors are so pretty. I want to get some to play with eventually, but I've heard bad things about the texture and occasional random knots and things?

PI SCARF! I saw that somewhere and my dorky heart yearns for one. Yearns, I tell you.

*applauds your craftiness*

Noro (in my limited experience) is an interesting knit, and yes, it will break, there will be knots, and there will definitely be random bits of twig in it. You also can't usually tell in the shop if it's going to be a Noro classic, or (like one I got) mostly green (ferinstance). And other brands are coming out with Noro-esque colourways - Rowan's Colourscape, ferinstance - for the fall/winter 08 season, and there are other yarns with long colour changes, like Wendy Fusion (which is also rather cheaper), so while there's nothing quite like Noro, there's definitely other options. :)

I looooooove the colours so much that the slight harshness of the texture and bits of twig don't bother me so much... I wouldn't make something to wear next to the skin out of it, but otherwise it's all right. I didn't get any knots, either, though I gather some people have worse experiences with it than I have.

I hearts people hearting geeking knitwear!
