Recently I downloaded a few tracks that I use to listen to ad nauseam during my high school years. Along with Jonathan Richman's "Party in the Woods", this Swirlies track may be the most memorable of the bunch. I think this contains all of the qualities I found most appealing at the time, and it still stands so strongly. Coming from the, mostly forgettable, Cats of The Wild Volume 2, it's sunshine pop riding washed out guitar pounce. I love the start-stop nature, as each section opens up to the next, as the simple, yet strongly emotive lyrics weave together a perfect song to swoon the night away.
