Recently I downloaded a few tracks that I use to listen to ad nauseam during my high school years. Along with Jonathan Richman's "Party in the Woods", this Swirlies track may be the most memorable of the bunch. i like a lot of things about this. that china cymbal at the beginning sounds like another muted guitar getting wrecked; really nice delay and panning on the guitars; the melodic parts set up some really nice dissonance in the transitions, and that awesome sample at the end. beautifully produced.

as much as i can go off about what i do like, i dunno, there's just something extra that's missing. it just doesn't have it for me, however vaguely defined (and perhaps non-existent) it is.

Yes. There's so much going on in there that I could devote my attention to it every time it came up in the mix, but also enough pop and otherwise striking sound that I'd be happy to have it float by in the background.

i've always loved blonder tongue audio baton is one of my favorite records. i dig this song a bit too, and it makes me want to revisit that track. i've been trying to get a dreampop/shoegaze track on these mixes for ages. kudos for your attempt as well!
