[RL with Maraihi]

Kabuto leaned against a rock outcropping, catching his breath. Though he would never admit it to Maraihi, he had pushed himself hard to get to the abandoned hideout in time. He only hoped he had concealed his movements, and motives, well enough to fool Lord Orochimaru from following him ( Read more... )

When Maraich was dropped off he wasn't sure what to expect or what to look for. The world seemed like it had a different brand of technology than his, and some parts of what he was told didn't sound very safe.

Moreover he didn't even know the name of the man he was supposed to be meeting. He was angry at himself for overlooking such an important detail.
He took a look around the area for anyone he recognized.

Maraich watched as he rolled the monitor over. The fact that it looked similar to equipment on his world made him feel better, although it seemed to have a different process.

He scooted back further onto the bed, putting his feet up then lying back. Although he was nervous, his nervousness stemmed more from being in an awkward situation that he wasn't familiar with than with being shy or self-conscious about his body.
He had no qualms pulling his shirt up above his abdomen - which had a very slight roundness by now. It may not have been obvious to other people but it was obvious to Maraich that there had been a slight shift in his build. A pound or two made a difference in his petite frame.

As he lied back and looked up at the monitor he squeezed in one last question, "It's safe to do this, right?"

"I do not see why it wouldn't be." Kabuto responded. "Unless you are allergic to chakra...or magic, as I suppose it would be called in your world. It is more likely that I will accidentally heal you than harm you, or your child."

With that he pressed his hands slowly onto Maraich's stomach, starting at just above the groin and working his way up in slow, methodical motions. Were one to have the ability to see magic his hands would have been coated in a flickering purple glow. He found the source of Maraichi's distress and pushed his magic deeper into the other mans body, ignoring 'normal' organs in favor of one that was unusual. The screen flickered to life as Kabuto widened the field of his search, enhancing his chakra to fully reveal the situation.

Maraich had no magical powers himself. It was a very strange tingling feeling, but he stayed in place and watched the monitor. It was strange to see the images pop up. Especially for someone relatively un-educated in the medical field, and having and abnormal medical phenomenon, he wasn't sure what he was looking at.

He gestured towards the monitor a bit, "Is that the baby?"

((6-7 weeks babies don't look like much.))

"Yes. A bit to young to tell the gender, unless you want me to examine its coding as well." He with drew his hands for a moment, then continued, this time examining a bit lower. "It appears that you have no -ah- exit for the child. I am not sure how you even became pregnant this way. Though, as I am unfamiliar with your situation, you may, over the course of your pregnancy, gain additional anatomy, and become able to deliver the baby naturally. Unless, of course, you wish to terminate it."

Kabuto pulled his hands away again, looking questioningly at Maraich. From every thing he knew of the man, he would have little desire to abort. Still, Kabuto was prepared to do it, if the younger man desired it.

((ooc: Thanks! What I know of Medicine is next to nothing.))

It had been the second time the idea had been proposed to him and he was still shocked. He retorted with an immediate, "I can't do that!", sitting up slightly as he did.

After he snapped at the other man he lied back again with a deep breath, resting one arm across his forehead melodramatically - although, perhaps, it was suitable in this situation.
He was a little concerned, but he had of course already thought about how he would be able to deliver a baby, "I know I don't... have anything, down there. I'll probably have to get a C-section. I don't mind, as long as the baby is healthy."
He reached down to gently pull Kabuto's hands back towards his stomach, "I want to see the baby again."

((6 week old ultrasounds. Maraich is probably going to be asking "WTF is that?"))

"I wasn't suggesting that you should, merely that I could preform the operation if you so desired." Kabuto said, soothingly.

"A Cesarean-section would be the logical course of action." He said. "The procedure is basic, and would likely not hurt the baby, assuming your society has advanced far enough to be well versed in the medical arts."

He let the other man guide him, concentrating this time on getting a clearer image, aware that what he felt and was able to decipher was far more detailed than the picture on the screen. "If I might ask, who is the father of your child? Do you know? Is there any history of genetic diseases in either of your histories?"

"Yeah, it should be fine. Women get them all the time," he stared up at the blob on the screen. It was like a black screen with slight white fuzz, and then a tiny area of even more white fuzz near the middle. It was hard to see but he figured the little white dot had to be the baby.

"The father? Oh, that's Bancoran. But I don't know my family history, and he never really talks about his family... As far as stuff that's inherited, I guess there's the Bancoran Eyes, but my other son doesn't look like he has them," he pointed at the screen, towards the white dot, "That's the baby, right? Where's its head?"

"But there is no risk of the baby having any defects? Good. Though I suppose he is more likely to be homosexual, given his parents." He shrugged, then returned his attention to the child. With out being asked, he dipped into the baby's genetic coding, making certain there would be no birth defects. Then he pointed to a part of the screen.

"The head is there. I know it does not look like much of a child yet, and won't for at least another month. But the doctors on your home world should be able to give you further tests when you are farther along in your pregnancy."

"May I ask why you came to DramaDramaDuck for help, rather than your native doctors? You seem to be familiar with a much higher level of technology than one our world. Would not they have been able to help you better?"

He tried to take a closer look, but no matter how hard he tried it was still a fuzzy blob on the screen. Not very cute yet...

"I don't think so. None that I know of," with a slight raise of his eyebrow, "It's pretty normal to be homosexual."

He was hesitant to go into any details as he continued, "The pregnancy... Wasn't planned. If certain people found out it would be really terrible."
"Are you sure that's a head? It looks kind of like a little peanut thing," he questioned quietly, before speaking up, "Is there anything else you can tell?"

"Then how - " Kabuto stopped. "I suppose its not surprising. I am sure more people with in my world would follow your lead if we were not so short on population."

"I see. Are you planning on living in another world while your pregnancy progresses? Or -" he spoke carefully, not betraying his interest. " -do you need an -um- uninvolved doctor to care for you at home?"

"Human children rarely look any different for most of a pregnancy." Kabuto paused, before answering Maraich's last question. "I could tell you - " another uncomfortable pause " - I could tell you its gender, and the color its eyes will be. But most expectant mothers have told me that they have no need of this information."

Maraich thought about it for a bit. He hadn't thought this out or planned ahead. Until recently he hadn't even thought of the possibility that he was pregnant.
"Kristoph already lives on another world, so I can just tell him not to come over..." he thought about it out loud, "And Bancoran isn't supposed to come over when I'm alone anyway. So I could stay on my own world if I wanted to. It would be nice to stay at home. I just got there."

He paused again. He hadn't thought too much about whether or not he wanted to know. He already figured it was more likely to be a boy, but it was still possible it could be a girl.
After a minute he shook his head, "I don't need to know. I'll find out eventually either way."

"So its not as though you must hid your self from the world at large. That is good." He stood, and pulled the gloves off, detaching them from the screen. "I can understand your wish to remain in a comforting setting. Though home is the last place I wish to be right now."

Kabuto smiled, and began cleaning the equipment and putting it away. "Did you find out what you needed to know?"

He sat up on the bed, fixing his shirt. He was a little disappointed he couldn't see more, but at least he knew that it was there and seemed healthy.

With a small shake of his head he answered, "No, I don't really have to hide, as long as I don't leave a paper trail that should be enough for now."
He looked down thoughtfully. A hint of disappointment was on his face, though he was trying to hide it. Perhaps he had expected too much in just a few weeks, "Yes, I think I did. How often do you think I should see a doctor?"

Kabuto noticed Maraich's expression, but didn't comment. "I would suggest you see a doctor at least once a month, more often later in your pregnancy. If do don't want a paper trail, I'd be happy to continue seeing you, though I'm sure there are many other capable doctors on the community."

He smiled, and offered Maraich a hand up.

Maraich took his hand and slipped off the table. It was nice to be treated like a lady - even if he wasn't really one.

"You think that's often enough?" he questioned, a little worried. His pregnancy was, after all, unusual. He wasn't sure how fast his body would change, though.

Trying to be polite, he shook his head, "I wouldn't want to take up all your time. I'm sure you're a busy man."
