Glaring sightlessly at his computer monitor, Ryuuken silently seethed with his mind trapped in a never-ending cycle of Isshin and Kisuke's constant taunting and tormenting. Only either one of them two could infuriate him to this level and once reached, was hard to disapate. It surely didn't help that Isshin's threat to continue the matter further, albeit in a far more physical manner, though at this point the idea definitely had some merit if only to release some of the tension that was working on making his temples throb ( ... )

For all the years Kisuke had known Isshin and Ryuuken, never before had the threat of physical violence been so imminent. Whilst a few drunken hits had been landed, and they had both been on the receiving end of his own happy idiot fan slaps or cane prods, this was a new turn of events for the trio, and Kisuke would be damned if he was to be kept out of it. Though, in essence, this was between the two older friends, the fathers and unfortunate widowers, the youngest member of the group still somehow felt personally vindicated on obtaining a front row seat to this rumble ( ... )

Walking trough the company's corridors had helped to reduce Isshin's anger... if only a little bit. Maybe he was taking things too far? After all Ryuuken was his friend and this fight could put a heavy damper on their relationship. However, his words had been too mocking to be ignored just like that. Didn't he knew how much grandkids (albeit still not born) meant to Isshin? Of course he did! And what was worse, Ichigo, being a stubborn child as always, still refused to talk to him about his romantic issues. Why did everyone had to be so damn difficult?

With a renewed determination to fix the situation, whatever it took, he quickened his pace. Just rounding the corner he caught a glimpse of blond hair and the characteristic striped-clad form of Urahara Kisuke. So, he had kept his promise and waited for him? At first Isshin thought he had come to stop a fight between his two good friends, but one look at his amused eyes, barely visible behind his fan, clearly told Kisuke just wanted to witness the confrontation waiting to happen.

Kisuke wasn't entirely soulless in this. Sure it had been a while since he had witnessed a fight between two strong individuals, and he so enjoyed seeing people's techniques, but these were two of his oldest friends. The thought had crossed his mind to intervene ( ... )

Movement outside of his office alerted Ryuuken to the presence of an unwanted visitor that had apparently chosen to make an appearance after all. Wonderful. On a certain level he had hoped Isshin would have been side tracked (as he so easily was) by some shiny object rather than this whole debacle continuing, however it looked as though that hope failed to reach fruition. Perhaps there was some way that he could easily talk around Isshin until the whole matter was past, but his own pride had been pricked and he would not allow himself to back down. If he was lucky they could keep this confined to his small office as he did have a reputation to uphold. A reputation that cowed most of his coworkers (Isshin and Kisuke not withstanding), and left little room for such boorish actions.

An oh-so-familiar 'thump' of a cane indicated that Kisuke had also tagged along as he had threatened promised. His day just kept getting better and better.

'The hell with waiting.'Sliding out from behind his desk he strolled over and pulled his ( ... )
