This is where it gets unnerving.

Have the Animus simply given us this week off, or has the change this time been something large and reality-altering again, so that we just won't notice until it's over?

Maybe they can't do anything this week because some of them were with Madara last week?

[She's just guessing, and sorta hoping.]

Wouldn't that be nice?

[His tone is bland.]

I assume that means they're all back in the Inner City?

Mm...

[Well, give her a bit. Now you've got Botan looking like she's concentrating really hard, eyes darting around. It'll be a good minute before she says anything.]

That does feel to be the case, yes.

[He considers her flatly for a long moment.]

I don't believe we've met.

I'm hoping it's the former. It's been far too eventful as of late. Worse than home, in it's way.

This place is always worse than home. [Johannes doesn't seem entirely bothered by it.]

We are at a disadvantage here. If we could get the electricity and water working throughout the city, it would be a start. And if we could find out more about the goings-on which led to the compression, it'd be even better.

Probably wouldn't be hard to get the water going, if people worked together at it.

[.. which he has no interest in doing.]

I prefer to think they gave us the week off.

Either you've not been here long or you're incredibly stupid to casually consider that possibility.

I said I preferred thinking that way. I didn't say that was the truth.

A relief to find you weren't killed in the wastes.

[A reference to the coordinates he'd given her when she'd tried to retrieve the dead dog. Too bad sarcasm isn't communicable via text.]

And you are complaining about the respite, why exactly?

Just wondering if it's actually a respite, or if we're all just tricked into thinking that it's one.

Either way, it makes sense to make use of the calmer time. To plan, to heal, to repair. The exact reason doesn't matter in that case.

So plan, heal, and repair. It was just a thought and nothing more than that. I hate being toyed with, whether or not I realize I am at the time.

This has nothing to do with the Animus.
