This is where it gets unnerving.

Have the Animus simply given us this week off, or has the change this time been something large and reality-altering again, so that we just won't notice until it's over?

I'm hoping it's the former. It's been far too eventful as of late. Worse than home, in it's way.

This place is always worse than home. [Johannes doesn't seem entirely bothered by it.]

We are at a disadvantage here. If we could get the electricity and water working throughout the city, it would be a start. And if we could find out more about the goings-on which led to the compression, it'd be even better.

Probably wouldn't be hard to get the water going, if people worked together at it.

[.. which he has no interest in doing.]

Have we any civil engineers trapped with us? That would be useful.

I doubt we've got anyone so handy just lying around.

Place like this? You never know who's lying about and what skills they have.

Maybe I'll ask around, then.

[He won't.]

And who are you, anyway?

Never hurts to have contacts.

Sarah Jane Smith, freelance journalist. And you are?

Johannes Cabal. A necromancer of some little infamy at home.

Necromancer.

[Alternate dimensions and their odd trends toward what she would consider the supernatural. It did explain the dead dog not long ago.]

Interesting profession, Mr. Cabal. We don't have those on my world. They exist only in horror or fantasy stories. What exactly does a necromancer do? I'd hate to make assumptions based on literature.

[Horror and fantasy stories. That sounded about right. Johannes snorts just a little dryly.]

We have a bad habit of raising the dead.

Why is it a bad habit, Mr. Cabal?

[She can guess, but she'd rather not just assume.]
