Ja, I suppose you are. It is a quality of most hair like yours. [scientifically speaking.]

So then, you are another year older. [He can't say 'May you have a thousand more' because that's just gauche. Germany hands over a plate of cake instead.]

Lily has been spending her days exploring the city and unsuccessfully trying to find transportation out of this place. Even after a couple of months in San Francisco, she hadn’t gotten completely used to navigating that city. So, after only little more than a week in Death City, it’s not surprising that she’s sometimes finding herself a bit lost.

Dag nab it, where am I?

Today, she winds up near Death City Heights and is looking at the strange sign outside…

Sorry for the late! Latter half of this week was a disaster. XD thebestandwurst January 22 2012, 15:44:56 UTC
Germany takes a step out at that moment, to bring a plate of cake out and a pot of coffee. It was daytime, after all, and not everyone would take to beer while the sun was still so high in the sky.

He spotted the woman as he set the items down, and saluted smartly. "Good day. You are here to visit?"

It's okay! I'm still backlogged myself due to Chinese New Year stuff and sewing! magicandvintage January 24 2012, 07:24:16 UTC
Lily blinked at the unexpected salute. When she spoke, it was with a twang; although she left Texas more than a decade ago and spent years traveling the world, her accent has been stubborn and remained.

“To visit?” she repeated uncertainly. The man was a stranger so she wasn’t sure why he thought she might be coming for a visit. And having been shunned in her hometown for her abilities, it still seemed like a small miracle when she was invited into people’s homes.

“Actually, I was just looking around the city and got turned around.”

"I see," he replied in his usual stoic way. "It is my brother's birthday today, so we are giving away food and drink. Please have some; it would make him happy."

Too happy, actually. Germany didn't usually give his brother's wilder tendencies notice, but he figured it wouldn't hurt for today. Unfortunately, Germany didn't elaborate on what Preußen might do if he saw an actual guest among them. She'd know soon enough.

[This boy, whom you may or may not be seeing at training every day ridiculously early in the morning and more or less following Gai around, is still finding himself with entirely too much time on his hands and has accordingly set to familiarizing himself with the city.

At the very least, he's not likely to get too lost if you blindfold him and plop him in one of the lower quarters.

He's familiar enough with his neighborhood of the residential district now that the strange sign arrests him for a moment on his walk; he blinks curiously at it and idly wonders what kind of birthday celebration here could possibly go on for so long.]

Hello! thebestandwurst January 26 2012, 12:59:04 UTC
[Germany sees a target! Halloa!]

Good day. [Have an entirely serious face.] I am Germany -- you are that boy from training, ja? Today is my brother's birthday, and we are giving away cake and beer.

[Wait, you might be underaged.] Or coffee, if you do not take alcohol.

[Oh, dear. That is quite possibly the most severe face he's ever seen on a birthday. It doesn't quite match the fellow's words, but then again Allen is used to incongruously serious faces. He certainly looks in the mirror enough.

Have a bow.]

Good day, Sir Germany. My name is Allen and, um-- [he's not quite sure what to do with the offer] --is it really all right? I'm not sure I'm acquainted with your brother...

[A... bow in return!]

Well met, Allen. And it is perfectly all right. This is for everyone. If my brother does not know you, then he will know you soon enough. [it doesn't make a difference to Prussia.]

[Also sparkling! Sort of. Not as obviously as Prussia, though. But he's definitely hovering and trying to be unobtrusive while examining the food Germany's laid out. There are a few dishes that don't normally make their appearance during the training breakfasts. Like the cakes.]

Hi. Happy birthday. [He's smiling, but he sounds just the slightest bit uncertain. How do you greet someone hundreds of years old, anyway? He's holding a gift--a long, thin package wrapped in plain royal blue wrapping paper. It looks like it might be a cane, but Prussia will have to open it to find out.]
