KISHIN CHAMBER daddyscythe December 16 2011, 13:14:05 UTC
Kishin Chamber!

He’d just come back from the right big mess in Europe, and the first thing they’d told him was that the BREW was acting up. It had been a month since the last time they’ve gotten anyone, so it was probably reasonable, and because he was Spirit, also exciting. Still, would have been nice to rest up and bug Maka and stuff...

Nevermind that, he told himself. Maka would understand if Spirit couldn’t visit her! There were new friends to make.

“Hello!” He cleared his throat, adjusted his tie, and continued, “The first thing we’ll do is hand you your communicators. It’ll let you connect with all the other guests here like you. It has other functions that you can read about later on in the manual ( ... )

Communicator, huh?

She stared down at the device she was handed warily, still not quite sure this wasn't all some elaborate setup. The device was simple enough to figure out- you'd have to be an idiot not to be able to, in her opinion- and she set about perusing the network as she pulled away from the rest of the group. If this was a trick, He would have left her a clue somewhere, something to tip her off that she was being tested. If it wasn't, then a little information gathering never hurt anyone.

She kept half an ear open to listen to the rest of what he was saying- a tour? What the fuck were they acting like this was, some sort of war reenactment vacation trip? Idiots. Whatever. She'd go along, if only because acting out now would draw attention- she didn't need that quite yet. Not until she was ready to make her move. She grunted softly as someone jostled past her, red-tinted gray eyes narrowing slightly. Then again, she might not be able to keep a low profile if these pink creatures were going to keep acting like assholes.

If the troll girl was hoping for non-assholes to assist her, she might have wished for someone else to approach her. Any other man, really, probably would have sufficed. But in addition to his usual social ineptness, today L was like a cat on scissors for one very crucial reason: he hoped that someone specific would arrive. He wanted it so badly that he'd almost started expecting it, a bleak confirmation bias to glaringly contradict the otherwise logical processes whirling around his brain.

Anyone who wasn't his nemesis was simply not of much interest to him. Anyone who got into a conversation with L now would likely get a taste of the bitter disappointment that tainted his willingness to be helpful every moment Light didn't make an appearance ( ... )

To be fair, she wasn't hoping for anyone to assist her. In fact, she was hoping these pink things might be able to tell by the stormcloud expression on her face to keep their distance. Her estimation of their intelligence dropped considerably, of course, when she was approached despite the fact. At least this one didn't seem like he was going to dance around whatever the point of his approaching her was. The question didn't so much catch her off guard as it did confuse her. Was he asking because he'd never seen one, or because he had? Because she had yet to see anything other than these... creatures here (and the odd beast) but that didn't mean there might not be one or two somewhere. That cueball always had been one hell of a sneak ( ... )

AROUND SHIBUSEN checkoutmyjugs December 16 2011, 13:19:55 UTC
Around ShibusenKilik was nervous. This was his first time leading a new area on one of these tours. Here it was just him, and him alone. How Crona had managed to do it at all was very surprising -- but with the way the kid had stuttered his/her way through the written index cards, Kilik was probably brimming with confidence in comparison. Of course, he had his own set of cue cards that he had carefully written himself and when he read, it sounded more like the beginnings of a school report than anything ( ... )

Courtney examined the building Kilik indicated. Nice architecture, at least. Then she turned back to him and raised a hand.

"What exactly is Shibusen? Is it a military organization or something?"

Kilik glanced at Courtney -- surprised (and amused) by the hand raising. "Something like that, kinda. Shibusen is largely an operation that fights what other military organizations can't -- but this school itself is more designed to teaching weapons and meisters how to control their powers whether it's for combat or simply to avoid being a danger to themselves."

Courtney thought about that for a moment. "So does that mean that conventional weapons aren't very useful against the witches?" She asked.

Outside Shibusen

“I wanna do this from up here!”

The next part of the tour led upon a scene where neither party seemed prepared for the oncoming guests. The one who made the announcement stood high above the ground -- atop one of the protruding spike pillars (part of the school’s odd design). From this distance, perhaps the only defining feature that could be made out was the spiked blue hair (unless you counted the fact that his voice carried loudly even despite how far away he was).

“I’ve told you you have to do it from down here!” yelled a young shinigami, the three odd white stripes on the left side of his hair making him stand out just as well as the guy on top of the spike. “They’ll be here any minute, now get down before you break that spike again. I’ve already had to fix it five times because of you!!” Unfortunately-or fortunately for any who may have been bored up until that point-he had yet to notice the group.

“Tch, they’re not gonna be leaving for a while...so what’s the rush, anyway?” The blue-haired one grunted in ( ... )

"Is he always that fucking loud or is he just trying to show off?" Because this was obviously relevant to the actual tour. But it has to be asked, and if no one else was going to ask...

"I think that covers it for questions though, as far as I know."

"Unfortunately he is always like that. Just ignore him, otherwise you'll only be encouraging his behavior." He is also not caring that Black☆Star can hear him perfectly fine.

"If you ever think of anything in the future, do not hesitate to ask either while on the tour or through the network. There are a number of people who will be more than willing to help."

"I'll put that on my mental list of shit to do. Do not feed the loud animals with attention. Got it." Also not caring that the other can hear him perfectly fine.

"I have a few friends here already, apparently. So I think all my bases are covered, loaded, and safe as hell."

Around Death CityWork, work, work... Marie supposes she shouldn't be surprised at how much her work's increased since she got here. And while she'll grumble and groan about it to anybody who will listen, showing newbies around the city doesn't sound so bad at all. It gets her out of paperwork for awhile, anyway. It puts her in a good mood, at least, though that isn't very difficult either ( ... )

Senritsu wasn't sure how to feel when she arrived here. She was use to the strange and unusual but this was starting to annoy her. While she was usually mild mannered, she did not appreciate that she was transported in another world.

Still, she thought, she might as well explore the place. When she bumped into Marie, she smiled back at her. "Excuse me, Miss Marie, can you tell me how to access the map on the communicator? I don't want to be lost here!"

Shirogane had spent the moments during and before the tour alternating between giving his attention to whoever was speaking and reading the manual, so he used this as an opportunity to test out the map function she indicates.

And sees the direction they seem to be heading in. Of all the places to go she chooses to take us to the red-light district first.

CASUALTY COMMUNAL hesgotsoul December 16 2011, 13:24:29 UTC
Casualty CommunalIt was apt, in a way, that barely a few days into the new year the BREW decided to spit out a new batch of people. Good thing it had not happened during the festivities themselves... that would have been tricky, to say the least ( ... )

"And what if we prefer to live somewhere with actual privacy?" As in, alone and not in one of these large buildings. "I don't know about you, but I'd prefer somewhere where I won't have to deal with a bunch of loud kids running around."

Hiko had see tall buildings before, but not so many in one location. He also wasn't too keen in living in the same building as so many people, so if there was any way for him to find some privacy in this city, he'd take it.

Soul could sympathize with that. He honestly couldn't imagine living at the Communal himself, or even at Death City Heights. He rather liked the quiet corner he and Maka had to themselves in the city.

"You can move out to some of the less crowded buildings once you've earned some money. We've got listings for the rooms and prices up for reference."

"Hm, I see." So he would have to put up with the noise until he could move out. "And how difficult is it to open a business here?"
