[ if she knows you, from the cast or not, she will probably have a present for you! she will be generally beaming as she bounces around with one arm in a sling, handing out presents. don't comment on how some of them are clumsily wrapped, she's a tomboy, remember!

Kaoru! [And here's Takuto, looking just as eager as she is while she wanders around with her poorly-wrapped presents. He isn't going to comment on it--after all, she does have on arm in a sling. But she isn't the only one carrying something brightly wrapped.]

I'm glad I found you! Merry Christmas!

[And he holds out a box about six inches across, with red paper and a bright, golden bow.]

Takuto! [ Kaoru turned to spot her student, her ponytail whipping behind her back as she brightened almost immediately. For his stupidity at the hospital, the air of the season was on her full spring, and she walked over, her sandals clopping on the ground as she tilted her head at the sudden gift. ]

This is my present? ..[ she set her basket down, using her good arm to reach out and smile a bit sheepishly ] It's my first present from someone in my future...and yet I can't even open it right. [ she makes a face. she's ripped it halfway with her good hand, but she's having trouble. she sets the box resting in her sling as she proceeds to rip it open further, looking a bit frustrated. ]

Um..

and for her birthday, maybe he'll get her some kind of birth control, lol~ JUST IN CASE ;)

[He laughs a little, at both the fact that it's a 'present from the future' and at her feeble (but oddly adorable) attempts to unwrap it. But he holds out a hand.]

Tomoe had been pacing for quite some time. Well, if pacing was really what it could be called. She was well aware of the date (as the network had been blowing up about it since her arrival, she would have to be completely deaf, dumb and blind not to realize it), and well aware of Kenshin's request that she join the group from their world. However, even with that invitation... well. She was welcomed by him--but he wasn't the one she was worried about. And so rather than actively doing much about the matter... she was wandering through her apartment, quite literally in circles, aimlessly... adjusting things rather than making any sort of move... out of the room

Kaoru gave a jump as the door started opening, stiffening in place as her ponytail literally went straight up on her head, then jerked down in a flop as she folded her arm in front of her.

"T-Tomoe-san! Hello! " She blurted out, bowing briefly as she flushed some. Great. I look like a complete idiot. In her hand was a basket of presents, a few bandages still clinging to the burnt skin of a tempestuous resonance.

"Um..--I hope I'm not bothering you but--well--it's Christmas! " A shy smile crept onto her face. "And--well, I was hoping that maybe you would join us...I don't want anyone to be alone on Christmas and certainly not Tomoe-san..." She trailed off, blushing as she realized how forward she was being.

She waved her hand frantically. "O-Or maybe I'm just being too forward, I'm sorry! I just--really want you to come."

Well, if one thing could be said about Kaoru... it was that she certainly gave Tomoe an interesting reaction just about every time they spoke...

She shook her head in answer to the concept that she was being bothered. Quite the contrary, actually. The girl's sudden appearance had removed the doubt that had caused her to wear a track into her floor in the last two hours.

"No, you're not being forward, Kaoru-san..." she belatedly pushed the door open, feeling a bit awkward for the western clothing she was still wearing (which was probably a bit silly considering the clothes were probably Kaoru's anyway). She looked up and gave a nod, "I would like to join you... very much..."

Her eyes widened. "Y-You..you would? " She almost gaped, before her face lit up, a bright smile present as she bowed again, with gratitude. "Thank you, Tomoe-san! Besides I need you to get your present..and I'd love for you to meet everyone, and not to mention Kenshin would be very happy to see you. " It was funny, how she was quietly acceping it. That there was another woman in Kenshin's life, but when she realized who it was, when she saw Tomoe, should have been angry, bitter at having this woman before her..she wasn't. She had full acceptance of the sort of woman she could never compare to in Kenshin's heart. She was beautiful, gentle, refined, all cool edges while she was nothing but a wildfire. It hurt, but it was a dulled hurt now. All she could do..was wish for his happiness and hers. Maybe this would help them both.

Although..--it did hurt a little bit. Swallowing that feeling down she stepped back, smiling more surely. "We're upstairs! We haven't opened much yet so you're not late!"
