CLOSED TO AION - 6:30am usedforcepalm October 29 2011, 18:36:30 UTC
Hanabi paused from striking one of the practice dummies off to the side when she heard footsteps approaching. Glancing over, she greeted Aion with a polite nod.

"Thank you for coming to meet me.'

"You're welcome."

Aion returned her gesture, raising two steaming cups - one with coffee, the other with wassail - in a make-shift salute. As usual the demon was wearing casual clothes in shades of white and black that had been fitted to adjust to his wings which he had folded tightly enough to his back that they also hid the spine-like tail that grew out of his nape so that only his horns and the long, fur-tipped ears remained as tell-tale signs of his lack of humanity.

Raising one of the cups, the leader of the Sinners smiled amiably. "I brought the promised coffee."

Aion's non-human traits barely registered as odd to Hanabi. Nill was a friend of hers and had wings much like an angel's, and if BREW could take people from different worlds it made sense that not all of them would be worlds inhabited by humans.

"I brought muffins," Hanabi said, holding up a paper bag. "I wasn't sure if you would be hungry after your Watch shift or not."

Aion's smile grew at the offered treats.

"I'd love to, thanks. That's very considerate of you." He had already known that she was young when he had agreed to meet her so he didn't feel bothered about it. Starting the training to fight at a young age was nothing unusual in his culture even though he understood that it had to be a rare case within that of humans. For a moment his eyes lingered on hers, noting their paleness.

"Do you want to try resonating first or should we strengthen ourselves before we begin the 'hard' part?"

This would be before Azusa's post, I guess? Late, nearly 9 AM! Also action so I'll be faster. :'D snipingyourfail October 30 2011, 12:47:16 UTC
[There are a thousand and one things to do still, even after they'd brought back all the guest agents relatively unharmed--no casualties, which is something she's extremely grateful for--Europe is a mess despite their success at Linz, and she isn't supposed to be here yet, and would have to go back and forth between the different regions to deal with panicked diplomats, but Death City and all that it stands for comes first. It's why she's back, and hurrying to the edge of the city the moment she ascertained that everything's well. She has to see for herself that Kid's barrier is holding, and that nothing is stirring out in the Nevada desert, beyond the borders of the city. Azusa's path takes her past the training grounds in the park, where most of the guests who'd stayed behind are having morning training at the moment. She gives most no more than a passing glance, one or two nods of acknowledgment, but it's the sight of the little girl doing katas very like Stein's fighting style that makes her slow down and stop.]

Yes, it would be before her post usedforcepalm November 2 2011, 01:47:04 UTC
[Hanabi is intently striking the practice dummies with her Soul Menace, using fluid movements to move in, attack, and then dodge imaginary strikes. This keeps up for about thirty seconds until she gets the distinct feeling that she's being watched. Training at the Konoha Academy has taught her that it's good to listen to one's gut instincts. She doesn't have her Byakugan here, so she pauses and whirls around to see who's watching her.

She knows very little about Asuza, but she does recognize the woman as an authority figure and greets her with a polite little bow, pressing her fist into her palm as she does so.]

Good morning.

[If Azusa is surprised at the polite greeting, she doesn't show it, and even bows back in the same manner--the stance and the courtesy with which the girl is facing her comfortingly familiar, and deserving of equal respect.] Good morning. I'm sorry for interrupting, but it's always a pleasure to see skill in one as young as you.

[Girl can't be older than what, ten?]

Thank you. This is my clan's fighting style from back home. My father is the clan head, so I've always been expected to work hard at mastering it.

[She allows herself a moment to stretch her muscles while they're still warmed up and haven't cooled down in the chilly weather.]

Chika smiled as she leaned back, taking a break from the training as she looked around. She really needed to start finding a partner though, especially since she didn't really seem to have that much trouble resonating with people, from what she could tell. Even if she still had no idea of what her meister ability was. Despite what Stein had told her, she didn't seem to be having any idea of what it was while she resonated with others. Of course, after that thing that happened with Eiko, she wasn't sure if she really wanted to believe anything that Stein said, but still ( ... )

Hanabi was driven for a number of reasons. She knew the odds of going home were slim until the war ended, and believed that people who could fight should, at least in a defensive capacity like serving in the Watch. Her father wouldn't have wanted her to slack off in her training, and she didn't want to worry Neji unduly here. Her ability was one of the few a Meister could possess that would allow them to fight without a Weapon if need be, and combined with the Hyuuga clan's fighting style, it was especially dangerous.

"Thank you," said Hanabi, pausing from her training. It was nice to take a moment to catch her breath, and her voice sounded like Chika's arrival was a timely one. "I went on a mission to Ontario Mills, but I didn't fight any Kishin eggs there."

It was cold out, so instead of water, she paused to drink some hot chocolate from a thermos she brought with her today.

"How are you this morning, Chika?"
