Chika smiled as she leaned back, taking a break from the training as she looked around. She really needed to start finding a partner though, especially since she didn't really seem to have that much trouble resonating with people, from what she could tell. Even if she still had no idea of what her meister ability was. Despite what Stein had told her, she didn't seem to be having any idea of what it was while she resonated with others. Of course, after that thing that happened with Eiko, she wasn't sure if she really wanted to believe anything that Stein said, but still.

Either way, her feelings on Stein weren't really that important right now. Right now she just needed to relax before she got back into her training. And then she noticed Hanabi was still training. Part of her couldn't believe how dedicated the other girl was to it, but the rest of her knew to believe what she was seeing. Heck, if she was in the other girl's situation at the same age she'd be doing much of the same thing. Though it might've been for different reasons; she wasn't exactly sure what was driving Hanabi other than the fact that she was from a place where she was expected to do this. But Chika did know that if she was ten and here, she would be training as hard as she could so she could prove herself.

But it really didn't matter all that much, she could ask Hanabi about her motivations later. "You seem like you're really getting the hang of it," Chika said, walking over to Hanabi. "You might be ready to go on a mission soon at this rate."

Actually, she was probably ready now if she could find a weapon to partner with, but as far as Chika knew Hanabi hadn't gone on one yet.

Hanabi was driven for a number of reasons. She knew the odds of going home were slim until the war ended, and believed that people who could fight should, at least in a defensive capacity like serving in the Watch. Her father wouldn't have wanted her to slack off in her training, and she didn't want to worry Neji unduly here. Her ability was one of the few a Meister could possess that would allow them to fight without a Weapon if need be, and combined with the Hyuuga clan's fighting style, it was especially dangerous.

"Thank you," said Hanabi, pausing from her training. It was nice to take a moment to catch her breath, and her voice sounded like Chika's arrival was a timely one. "I went on a mission to Ontario Mills, but I didn't fight any Kishin eggs there."

It was cold out, so instead of water, she paused to drink some hot chocolate from a thermos she brought with her today.

"How are you this morning, Chika?"
